Managing With Only a Carry-On for Your Next Business Trip
Traveling for business already involves a number of challenges, and it’s even more difficult when your packing space is limited to a single carry-on.
Even the little things add up. You don’t want to forget about these when packing. An accessory subscription is perfect for purchasing all your toiletries and makeup in one place. Fortunately, we’ve put together some similar, effective packing tips to help you make the most of your luggage space.
Wear Any Bulky Clothes
If you’re packing anything that’s likely to take up a lot of space in your suitcase, consider wearing it on the plane instead. You’ll end up with more room in your suitcase, and you won’t have to deal with wrinkles on whatever you decide to wear.
Bring Neutral Colors
The easiest way to pack light for a business trip is to pack clothes that are easy to match with each other and wear for different events throughout the day. Vivid and striking colors are less likely to pair well than classic neutrals like gray, navy, and black. However, since summer is in full bloom, try a summer subscription box to get all your vibrant summer accessories.
With a color-coordinated wardrobe in your suitcase, you should also be able to make it through the entire business trip on a single pair of dress shoes. If you end up needing more, check out these tips for efficiently packing multiple pairs of shoes.
Take Two Carry-Ons
Depending on your airline, you may be able to bring two carry-on items rather than one—most allow for a carry-on suitcase plus a backpack or other small bag. This gives you even more space to work with as you try to fit those last-minute items into your luggage.
Leave Your Laptop Behind
You might be in the habit of taking your laptop with you wherever you go, but many hotels offer computers, and you can get much of the same work done on a tablet anyway. Tablets take up significantly less space than most laptops, and they’re just as effective for any tasks you need to take care of.
Use Hotel Toiletries
If things like shampoo and conditioner are taking up a large amount of space in your luggage, consider leaving them at home and simply using what’s available at your hotel. You can even call ahead or check their website to see what you’ll have access to in your room.
Packing for a business trip can be stressful, especially when you have a lot to take with you and limited space. These simple tips will help you maximize your luggage while bringing everything you need to feel confident and comfortable at your destination.

Mother Falcon Music Lab
The Mother Falcon Music Lab is a creative education movement founded and run by Austin band Mother Falcon. The curriculum is inspired by Mother Falcon’s practice of collaborative songwriting, and has been developed based on primary experience as creators, educators, and professional performers. Now in its 8th season, MFML is seeking musicians ages 11-18 to participate in its summer program, which focuses on bringing instrumentalists and vocalists of all diversities and levels together to explore the potential and versatility of their creativity though improvisation, world music, photography, design and more. MFML seeks to bring together different viewpoints in order to foster an attitude of understanding, respect and open mindedness by eschewing entrance auditions and providing need based scholarships to up to 50% of campers. Students will learn marketing and promotion skills, create their own band name, logo and merchandise, create a light show and have the opportunity to perform their original song at a real Austin music venue.

Y'all, baby Isla and I are so so very blessed! We have had three different baby showers all across the country thrown by our loved ones and they have all been so amazing and special! I wanted to feature our Austin shower on here since this is the great city we all love! My amazing friends threw me a shower at the delicious Manuel's restaurant in the Arboretum and it was just gorgeous! We had the yummiest food, there were some fancy cocktails for the ladies and the decor, cupcakes and group of women was just the best! Isla and I were showered in so much love and sweet gifts and couldn't be more grateful! Now being about 3 days out from being induced, I look back on this and all of the showers with such a full and thankful heart for all of the amazing women who have come into my life and are able to share in this journey of motherhood with me! Thanks ladies who are apart of this awesome community and I promise, in a few months I'll be back at the event and will bring baby girl for everyone to meet her!! Love all of you!!
Alright y'all, I know we're not technically in the summer season yet but with temps in the 80's it's making me feel like we are so I'm sharing two of my most favorite summer cocktail drinks! And starting next month after baby girl arrives I'll be able to sip on these delicious beverages, just in time for summer! The two that I'm sharing are a summer white sangria (I LOVE SANGRIA) and a skinny Jalapeño watermelon margarita, my mouth is watering just thinking about it! See below for these yummy drinks and if you end up making one, let me know what you think!
