I've had the same hair style for a few years. Before my son was born in 2010, I chopped off my hair to my chin. Biggest mistake I have ever made. I always feel that my hair is fine until I chop it off and realize I have so much hair on my head. From that moment on, I have not really made any drastic changes to my hair and just let it grow. I've lightened it but for the past two years I have primarily had dark hair halfway down my back.
After a year of wanting a change, I decided to take the leap. I had a co-worker who loves the salon they go to and although I did not use her stylist, I was pleased with my luck of the draw. My stylist sat me down, talked me through the process and was straight forward with me.
So on Thursday, I went to Beth & Company Salon and Day Spa in Statesville. They also have a new location in Langtree off exit 31, however no one had an appointment same day. Beth & Co. has a wide variety of services including hair, nails, massage, waxing and make up application. You can view their full listing on services on their website.
I desperately wanted a Baylage Ombre - I used the picture on the right that I grabbed from Pinterest - but years of box dye has ruined my hair. I always colored it a deep dark brown so it is hard for it to take any type of lighter color. I was hoping for a lighter drastic change, but my hair just would not take it. She was upfront about this and did everything in her power to make it work.
My heart did stop a bit while I was sitting in the chair as she is combing through my long locks. There wasn't a change to be seen. I kept telling myself to wait until it was dry and I'm glad I did.
The new color is gorgeous. I will have to go back to get a touch up and help my hair break down the damaged process of the dreaded box dye. (Just say no my friends) But for now I have a great lighter color for the summer. The texture and movement is just what I wanted to give my long hair a new look.
