It's here. 2016.The past year has flown by and I sometimes see myself not being able to catch it by the tails.
As always, the new year brings a lot of changes. In 2016 I will graduate from college - finally. My long distance relationship will no longer be 1600 miles apart. Our country will elect a new President in what will be, inevitably, the most talked about and controversial election our country has ever seen. We will fight wars at home and overseas. It's going to be an interesting year and it's not even started.
I know so many people make resolutions each year and many of them fail to keep them until December 31st. This past week I have spent a lot of time attempting to figure out if I want to have a resolution at all. Do I want to spend the time to make these doe-eyed goals in January to be upset in July that I have not made it even 1/8th of the way through them? Or do I want to lower my expectations and be more realistic?
This year I decided to go all out. Make realistic goals and go forward. I'm not going to become a gym rat. I'm not going to stop eating fast food and junk, because let's face it, I LOVE sweats. I'm not going to volunteer more, drink more water, watch less televisions or make a massive lifestyle change overnight. Instead, I decided on a few small changes that could impact my life in small steps.
Travel and Experiences
Travel more. I love traveling. I want to travel with my boyfriend. I want to travel with my son. I want to visit places near and far. We already have a few trips this year in the books and even if it's just a few miles down the road, I want to experience new things.
I want to find something each month for my son to experience. Either for him to experience something new or something he loves. Tweetsie Railroad, Disney on Ice, and trips to Discovery Place and more. I want to experience new events within Charlotte, both charitable and entertainment.
I want to explore my surrounding. Go into new stores. Eat at new places. Walk down new roads. I am such a creature of habit. I want to experience new things in the city and towns I love. I want to learn the history, see the growth and embrace it. I hope i continue to explore it the more I see and do.
Writing, Blogging and Real Housewives of Charlotte
I love writing. I love experiencing new things. I want to put my best foot forward, host events and go to other events to share with you. I am finally in a place in my life where I can find time to experience more and write more than I have in the past.
So 2016 is here. It's the first day of the year and we have 365 to go - since it's a leap year. I hope that as I close out 2016 I can look back and be thankful for everything.
