I am asked multiple times before each event if someone can attend even though they are not a housewife. So I wanted to share what I think a housewife is.
A housewife is a woman who handles her day to day activities with grace - okay sometimes chaos too.
A housewife is a woman who juggles the different situations that comes her way.
A housewife is a woman who supports her household and everyone within in - the good and the bad.
A housewife is a woman who is strong through all the struggles she encounters even when she wants to crumble.
A housewife is a woman who is brave when accepting change and not knowing the uncertain.
A housewife is a woman who fights to become a better person each day even when she falters.
A housewife is a woman who admits defeat when it gets a little hard.
A housewife is a woman who works. Whether it is at home, at the office or being a stay at home mom. It’s all work in the end.
A housewife is a woman who loves the life she lives and the life she has created.
When I first started blogging for Charlotte Housewives, I received a few questionable responses. Why would I be the blogger that was chosen? I was a divorcee single mom at the age of 26. How was I considered a housewife when I was not even a wife.
Well, today in the 21st century I think we can all appreciate that many things have changed. A housewife can be the single working woman living on her own. The newlywed who is still figuring out married life. The work at home mom who loves to grab drinks with friends once a month. The wife who works during the day while dad stays at home with the kiddos. The empty-nester with free time to enjoy it with friends.
and –of course- the single divorcee mom at the age of 26.
