Panama City, Panama is exploding since the return of the canal and being on the American Dollar. Banks from all over the world are setting up shop, building sky-scrapers with their name on it, attracting big names like Trump and Waldorf Astoria.
We were pleasantly surprised by not only the size of the city, but the height as well! Panama City is becoming quite the contender in the concrete jungle!
We were also blown away by the price; everything in Panama is much cheaper than the States so it is very easy to have a luxurious vaca while maintaining your budget. We stayed at Trump tower for under $200 a night, played $5 blackjack on a Saturday night and drank $4.50 mixed drinks... and that is the norm! We had such a warm welcome and amazing experience, the people were extremely friendly and the food was outstanding!
While I don’t think you need more than a few days in this city, it was a pleasure to explore and should be a must on your bucket list.
**Note that though Panama City has come along way, there are still many areas that are heavily crime stricken and not safe for solo travel. We recommend booking a driver with your hotel and being very intentional about what sections of the city you see, especially after the sun goes down.
An Acknowledgement to the other side of father's day and other holidays like it.
This Father’s Day absolutely broke my heart. While I was so happy to see my own dad and to spend time as a family, the fact that my husband is having a hard time even talking to his kids, let alone see them is absolutely gutting.
Keeping in mind I am not taking sides one way or the other, divorce rips families apart.
It can, and often does, dig massive holes that turn into trenches where one hides from the next blow. Wounded hearts and bitter tongues wreak havoc on the innocent ones left in the middle.
My heart breaks for my husband and for all those men and women out there who are going through the same thing. So many mothers and fathers do not have the joy of being with their kids, and kids without their parents.
Not all families are created the same. We are all made up of different parts, different pasts and different futures. One thing is for certain, we are all made of love, and love never fails.
Praying for strength, endurance, everlasting love and PEACE to everyone that is going through this time in their lives. Don’t give up, your time will come!

Their endearing love for all things under the sea was not only compelling, but also created a genuine need to return to Curacao; it is without a doubt one of the most (if not the most) incredible places we have ever been.

Edwin, our amazing captain from At Sea Curaçao, ensured our experience was safe and fun! His boat, Dí Luca, was originally a lifeboat from a large ship and cannot be capsized.
Dí Luca's generous width makes room for a relaxing seating area, communal table and shade, topped off with a grill to boot! His grilled pita sandwiches are the perfect ending to a morning or afternoon of snorkeling! Delish!
This weekend I had the privilege of shooting my cousin’s proposal in Toledo, Ohio. I love photographing everything I encounter with my iPhone but had never “officially” shot subjects with my good camera. I may not be the next Tribune photographer but I am so proud of how they turned out I thought that I would share them with you all!
I even included the practice run....hopefully you get as big of a kick out of it as I did!
