Well, you should shoot me your email addy and I will add you to the list of party wives invited to our NEXT Girls Night Out Mingling Meet-Up!
(Don't forget to RSVP !!!)
If you would like to follow my FB page so you can check up on up coming events instead or also, it's Colorado Springs Housewives In The City!
Well, let me fill you in on all the juicy detail, since you are soooo BAD with that calendar! Girl, you know I love you, but we have GOT to stay connected!
So, the Townhouse in Manitou Springs was soooo kind to host us for our January Girls Night Out Networking Social!!! It was a HIT! I think I counted about 45 folks who stopped by to show their support to the Victory Service Dogs, this month's spotlighted charity. Not to mention the support they have shown the local businesses who participated and was featured at this month's event.
But let me back up a bit! I had never been to the Townhouse Sports Grill until I stopped by for lunch to check the place out one day and they said they would be interested in hosting us! They have hosted other local charity events, one of them even had a silent auction! I was so excited to have our next event there, I felt like I couldn't wait the month and a half from our last event until this one! They have been around since 1951 and hope to keep providing a great locals hang out for many years to come. They have an AWESOME Happy Hour! It's from 3pm to close most days, the Domestic Drafts and Bottled Beer becomes $3 and the wines, wells and microbrews become $4 !!!
Just for us, they even had some great food specials for the night, such as Vera Cheese Soup, Fried Zucchini and Mushroom appetizer, East Coast Club Sandwich and the Meatball sub, and also they had a ham dinner available! I couldn't wait to try them all! <3 Yum!
I want to give a special thanks to Chad, one of the owners and managers of this establishment, who agreed to host us for the night and has provided an answer for every question I have had! And also one to his right hand man, Trevor! He was the manager for the night of our event and he provide a LOT of assistance, especially with the TVs. The Townhouse was able to help us play an AD reel loop that played on the biggest TV that resided above my table! It was FABULOUS! I wish I could do this at all my events! THANKS TOWNHOUSE!!!
the cost of other organizations. Through specialized evaluations and training that focuses on the individual needs of each client, we provide help to those with PTSD, TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), as well as other conditions that may cause mobility challenges. Those who receive our dogs achieve remarkable improvement in the quality of their daily lives. We offer continued support throughout the adoption and training process.
Our goal is to raise awareness of our mission and to accept donations in order to continue helping deserving veterans and disabled Americans in our community. VSD relies solely on private donations and our fundraising efforts to meet the financial obligations of finding, placing, and training each dog. We believe your assistance will allow us to continue our program and we would very much appreciate your support. "
Wow! Two great deeds! I'm in love! Make sure to show your support to their cause! Check out their website for more information and to make a donation. And Make sure to stop by their FB page to show them some love! We all know that dogs are willing to love US on our bad days, let's give a little back!
Speaking of donating! Myself and the Victory Service Dogs would like to thank to Lip Brilliance! (SeneGence Lipsense with Terri Bertsch) who was so kind to sponsor the Victory Service Dogs!
SeneGence is not tested at any stage on animals, and have rescued several wonderful pups myself. I love the service this organization can and does provide to support our returning troops and loving pups! I hope the ladies will get on board and shoot for the stars to help rescue both the pups and people. "
" If the ladies reach $500 in donation from sales" she declared, "I will personally match that with my own $500 donation!" (Note: this is not collected donations but rather the 10% of all sales totaling $500) "If we can get 100 women to buy one starter kit at $55 we will reach the $500 donation level and I will match it. If 50 women spend $100 each then we will reach the matching level. Etc. "
Super doable with a large number of ladies doing just a small amount. Not to mention they also receive great products (and really all the donation comes out of her pocket!).
Orders can be placed from the time of the event till midnight on 1/31. Lets see what we can do as a group to touch some lives and spread some love! Make sure to help us out by stopping by her Lip Brilliance page and making sure to name drop the Victory Service Dogs while making your order! Just to make it easy, the FB URL Link is: https://www.facebook.com/LipBrilliance/ - from there us ladies can click 'Shop Now' and place orders directly online.
And don't forget to tell her your address to send your awesome Lipsense products to!
Also! She offers a 10% discount to all military!!! THANK-YOU TERRI!!!

This year the Women's March on Colorado Springs was originally organized to begin gathering in Acacia Park, but as we all knew, winter was coming! Game of Thrones reference!) It snowed last night! And even to my surprise, the strength of the community was able to pull through! You go girls! The gathering was moved indoors to All Souls Universalist Unitarian Church and the women marched on! Special big thanks to the church for taking everyone in!!!
Participants began the march from the church (at 730 N. Tejon Street) at 2:30 p.m., but were joining together for the march the entire day. They marched from the church to the park, then returned to the church again.
I am glad there was such a great turn out for 2018, despite the snow and crisp cold wind (I hear it was in the thousands!). I wonder what the grand total will be for how many attended this years march. Last year, 2017, there was over 7,000 people to come out and I wonder what the impact the snow has made to this years turn out, comparatively. I was unable to be there personally (day jobs, psh *rolls eyes*), but I have been able to read about what is going on downtown and luckily my sister-in-law, and fellow housewife, Kara, stopped by to show her womanly support! Here's what she had to say about the 2018 Women's March on Colorado Springs and she snapped some great pics :]
I am still in amazement of the amount of participation and spirit of so many people on one of the coldest days of the year this far. To be apart of this movement is truly dignifying as a woman and an American. Together we can make a change! "
Special thanks to Kara for the quote and pictures!!! You ROCK!
