We were wondering, since you are a Leading Lady in our community . . .
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
And about your business and how you became the successful business woman you are today.
- " I am an Iowa native and a graduate from Mount Mercy University, where I majored in Marketing and Business Management. My first business venture, Carue Marketing, was established in 2011 and I focused on affordable marketing solutions for small and medium sized business. I soon expanded to printing, websites, promotional materials, social media and graphic design. "
So when did you found 'Weddings By Carue'?
- " In 2013. I had developed Weddings by Carue was designed to assist brides with the design and printing of invitations at affordable prices and high quality wedding photography.
Weddings by Carue quickly expanded, adding photo booths, and videography and DJ services to the list of services, becoming a one stop shop for couples. By 2018 the company reached a new level, expanding the brand to a second location in Colorado. Building a team and bringing photography, videography, photo booth, DJ services and Invitations to Colorado couples. "
How did you manage to achieve all of this in such a short time?
- " I definitely put in a lot of hours and long nights but it was something that I loved doing, bringing this brand and company to life. I built everything from the ground up and I love working with the couples, which is why I work with them from the first initial contact, with Weddings By Carue, all the way through their wedding days. "
If you HAD to pick . . .
What do you attribute your success to and what do you feel was your biggest motivator?
- " My husband, Justin, was definitely a motivator. He gave me the encouragement I needed to jump start 'Carue' and has been my biggest raving fan.
I attribute the success of my company, though, to my fundamental desire to help people love what they do. My team is comprised of photographers, videographers, DJ's and graphic designers that are passionate about their art and the people who enjoy it. "
What do you consider your greatest professional achievement?
- " Building Weddings By Carue from ground up and expanding to new markets. "
What are your professional goals for the next six months?
- " We are continually looking for ways to enhance our couples experience and have a few things we are implementing and excited to be rolling out over the next 6 months. Can't share details yet, but so excited to continue to grow and build Weddings By Carue. "
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
- " Perhaps not a complete career flip, but I would love to create a wedding venue some day. "
How do you maintain a work/life balance?
- " This has been something I have really worked to create because Weddings By Carue is my passion and I truly enjoy all I do to build and grow 'Carue', so I do not look at it as work. "
What is your goal for retirement?
- " It is not easy, but worth the hard-work in the long run. You can build anything that you work hard for. Put together a plan and execute it! When you feel like giving up, push through and you will be stronger for it. "
( Take notes ladies ! )
Any final comments?
- " Whatever you do in life, make sure you truly LOVE IT ! "

For the second straight year, Colorado Springs – Olympic City USA, is the most desirable place to live in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report. The survey ranks desirability based on a survey of where residents would live if given the choice of the nation’s 125 largest metro areas. It shares the top spot with Honolulu, Portland and San Francisco.
“Those of us who call Colorado Springs home have long known that this is a highly desirable place to live,” said Mayor John Suthers. “The fact that people outside the region and state have started to take note is a testament to the momentum that exists in our city today. There’s no doubt that our natural scenery plays a major role, but so does our commitment to building a city that matches that incredible scenery. “
Colorado Springs again topped other major cities including San Diego (No. 5), Seattle (No. 7), Austin (#9) and Denver (#10). The full list is available here: https://realestate.usnews.com/real-estate/slideshows/the-25-most-desirable-places-to-live-in-the-us.
“It’s said that if you build a desirable place to visit, you’ll build a desirable place to live,” said Doug Price, President of Visit Colorado Springs. “From our city’s very start, General Palmer understood the value of desirability and building a place people wanted to visit and ultimately, live. For decades, our stunning natural scenery, western hospitality and dedication to health and wellness have drawn travelers from across the globe.
Once people experience Colorado Springs firsthand, it’s easy to see why they would consider Olympic City USA the most desirable place to call their home. After a visit to the area, I myself made the decision to call this beautiful place home.
As we look forward to these world-class additions and expansions, we see General Palmer’s visions for our community continue to manifest, drawing both travelers and residents to experience the wonders of our city and the Pikes Peak region.”
Desirability is an element of U.S. News & World Report’s annual “Best Places to Live” report. Colorado Springs was ranked the No. 3 “Best Place to Live” in April, and No. 2 in 2018.

Happy Mother's Day!
" My Mother, my friend so dear,
Throughout my life you’re always near.
A tender smile to guide my way,
You’re the sunshine to light my day.
Of all the special joys in life,
The big ones and the small,
A mother’s love and tenderness
Is the greatest of them all.
There is no blessing
Quite so dear...
As a mom like you
To love year after year. "
Love you, Momma!!!
My Cousin, Robyn, Just Got Herself Hitched!!!
I just got back from my trip to Portland to witness my cousin's wedding and I had a blast!
It was great to see family members I haven't seen in over 10 years
and crazy to see how everybody has aged!
(I know I have gained a few pounds lol)
I landed in Portland, Oregon, on April 30th at almost midnight and my Aunt Denise and Cousin Kayla were nice enough to pick me up and set me up in a spare room for the night.
The next day, we were able to play catch up since I hadn't seen them in a very long time.
Later that day some of my siblings and my dad flew in and I joined them at their AirBnB, where I was staying for the rest of my trip.
It was a nice little place but the best part was the location!
My big bro did well! He managed to snap up a place in the Hawthorne district!
We were only one block away from stepping onto Hawthorne Blvd
and the AirBnB was RIGHT next to the Hawthorne Theatre, it was very convenient during our trip!
The Hawthorne district is known for its bohemian vibe and an eclectic mix of quirky gift shops, bookstores and resale boutiques along Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard.
The local low-key eateries include classic diners, taco spots and vegetarian restaurants, while pubs, music clubs and beer bars make for lively nightlife.
There are also other features, like Mt. Tabor Park, which resides on an extinct volcano,
has walking and biking trails and panoramic city views.
I roomed with my brother Russell, his wife Emily, my brother John, and my dad.
My dad is so cute, he wanted to make sure we all had food in the fridge for breakfast so he got up around 4am, went to the store, and purchased 5 dozen eggs!
We were all confused when we woke up. . . .
Like, why did you buy 5 dozen eggs for 4 days? lol
Love that guy.
One of the highlights from my trip was going to see
the Multnomah Falls!
At a height of 620 feet, Multnomah Falls is a waterfall located in the Columbia River Gorge, east of Troutdale, between Corbett and Dodson, Oregon, United States.
The waterfall is accessible from the Historic Columbia River Highway and Interstate 84.
Sorry about the small video format, but it was beautiful!
I highly recommend you check it out next time you are in Portland, Oregon :]
Afterwards, we went straight to the rehearsal dinner.
We ate, drank and were mary until we passed out lol.
Or at least I did, I was exhausted!
The next day was the BIG day!
We all had our part in the preparation, but mostly we were just in charge of getting ourselves dressed.
It was a beautiful wedding!
And my cousin Robyn was a stunning bride :]
I suppose now we just have to wait and Let Love Grow <3
Can't wait to see you all again at the next wedding!
(I wonder who it's going to be!!!)
