The Pre & Post Holiday Feast workout!
It's the day before Thanksgiving!!! I know in the midst of all the relative that arrived and all the cooking (the chef's got to check the taste as we cook, right?) we forget to take time to make sure we aren't going to regret it later! If you make sure to do a big workout before you eat either the day of or the day before (like TODAY!!! GO do this NOW) then it will save you some time (and giving yourself the before-getting-dressed-'LOOK' in the mirror) on black Friday when you need to be out shopping! Any extra time you take to 'sigh' at your butt will take away from great deals going on.
You should also do other 'prepping things' today, like make sure to drink lots of water today. You should drink 2 glasses right when you wake up, a glass of water before every meal, a glass before you brush your teeth (and have to wait 45 mins before you can drink water again because of the florid in your toothpaste), drink a glass after you go pee, a glass 30 mins before working out, and a glass (I know this sounds dangerous, but) before bed (*caution* hah). I have read somewhere that since NOON is 'mid-day' you are supposed to have consumed 1/2 the total amount of water you should have in a day, by Noon! So if you are supposed to have eight 8oz glasses of water in a day, you should have had four glasses of water by NOON. I want to engrain this in your head!!! Most people don't realize that they are dehydrated and that causes their organs to not function and process their food properly. You know when your mouth gets dry and you think "huh, I need a drink of water", at that point, you're body has been waaaaaaaaay too dehydrated for tooooooo long!!! People don't realize that when they feel thirsty, that is the FIRST sign of dehydration. This means, you were already dehydrated when your body told you that you were, not that you begin to be dehydrated right when you feel it.
On to the stuff you clicked on this for! My workout routine!
I start with The Victoria Secret Model 10 min. work out! (click here!)
I want you to keep in mind every time you look in the mirror, and see that "cottage cheese butt" ( I have two mirrors, I look too ), what your body is trying to tell you. The muscle below that spot NEEDS to be EXERCISED. Its the spot where that specific muscle has shrunk so much that it has dipped in and the fat layer on top has pulled inward (ever so slightly) which causes fat tissue wrinkles. It's OK! It's just your body telling you which muscle needs to be worked out! Follow the signs of your body, just like your heart and your mind, the tissue tells you things that are very important. Be kind to your body when it asks you for things.
If you forget to save the link and can't find this post, don't forget you can go to my Pinterest account and find it located in "I Work Out" board :]
After I finish that video above, and if I still have enough time, I do a few of these!
I have never published a recipe of mine before, so I hope this works as good for you as it does for me :]
This recipe is made with no processed (white) sugar added. This cobbler is made with honey and applesauce to sweeten it.
Pre-Heat your oven to 375 F
Total baking time 25-30 mins
You will need...
1 Small Bowl
3 Mixing Bowls
1 Cat Tongues (rubber spatulas)
1 8x8 or 9x9 Baking Dish
4 Apples, Peeled and Cut (I like mine cut into thin slices)
1/2 Cup Applesauce
1/3 Cup Honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon Lemon Zest
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
1/2 teaspoon flour
1/4 teaspoon Cinnamin
1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
(the rest of the spices are optional, but I think you should just try it with these as well)
Cobbler Crust Ingredients
1 Cup Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Vanilla
1 Tablespoon Honey
1 teaspoon Applesauce
1/4 Cup Butter
1/4 Cup Milk
1 Egg, Slightly Beaten
Starting by peeling and cutting up your apples, set aside. Mix all dry filling ingredients together in the small bowl, set aside. In a mixing bowl, add all of the wet filling ingredients together and mix. Next, mix the dry filling ingredients into the wet filling ingredient mixture. Pour the filling mixture into the mixing bowl with the apples, slightly stir. You don't want to crush the apples, just make sure they are covered in the filling mixture. Make sure to scrape all remaining wet ingredients out of bowl with cat tongue. Set apples aside. Rinse cat tongue and wet ingredient bowl out, you will need them for the cobbler crust wet ingredients.
Add all cobbler crust dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl, set aside. Take rinsed bowl and beat egg slightly in it. Add the rest of the wet cobbler crust ingredients to beaten egg, and mix one ingredient as a time, saving the butter for last. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix thoroughly, using cat tongue to scrap all remaining dry ingredients from sides into mixture. You want all of it!
Spray baking dish with non-cooking spray. Put apples, mixed with filling mixture, into baking dish, then cover with cobbler crust topping mixture. Make as even as you can without trying to mess with it too much. You don't want to smear it all around. Cover cobbler with tin foil and put in over. Set timer for 15 mins, when timer goes off take tin foil off and continue baking. This prevents cobbler from getting too brown during the cooking process. Continue baking for an additional 10 mins, uncovered. You may need to cook it for up to an additional 5 mins. Check center of crust periodically for when it will be done. If it looks a bit gooey it needs another minute or two. If crust is looking too brown to keep cooking, recover with tin foil.
Cool for 15 mins before attempting to eat!
Goes great with vanilla almond milk ice cream :]
I have pictures of my process, hope they help!
