I look at these vendors, who showcased inspiring products, and think back to our fun night at Home Grown Cafe. There were several reasons I chose HGC for our venue. It is near U of D and in the hottest area in Newark. You can find me there on a Sunday morning enjoying a vegan brunch with a "stump the bartender" drink. The food is delicious. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is eclectic and fun. One of my favorites in the area.
I can not sign off without telling you about our generous Swag Bag additions. Renee Bennett gave us a bag of Mary Kay goodies to keep our skin healthy. Jill Denton, of Delivery Dinners of Delaware, gave a basket of pre-measured ingredients to take home make yourself. Lisa Contrevo Kozachen donated a sample of their locally sourced honey. You can find Lisa, to place an order, on their facebook page Kozy Acres. Last but not least, Shenille of Aesthetics by Shenille gave us a discount coupon to use after trying her lash products.
There was mixing and mingling and most importantly, laughs.
I have always been a person who likes knowledge. This weekend I had the opportunity to attend a conference that expanded my knowledge of the travel industry, my livelihood. This conference was in Baltimore. This blog is not about the conference. It is about Baltimore. This is a city that is often in the news for negative activities.
I found Baltimore to be a city of complexities. The history. The architecture. The cuisine. The beauty. If you get an opportunity to visit, stay in the Inner Harbor. It has everything you could possibly want for a vacation. I will return to learn more.

A name day is a tradition in some countries in Europe, Latin America, and Catholic and Eastern Orthodox countries in general. It consists of celebrating a day of the year that is associated with one's given name. The celebration is similar to a birthday.
The custom originated with the Christian calendar of saints: believers named after a saint would celebrate that saint's feast day, or in the Eastern Orthodox tradition, the day of a saint's death. Name days have greater resonance in the Catholic and Orthodox parts of Europe; Protestant churches practice less veneration of saints. In many countries, however, name-day celebrations no longer have connection to explicitly Christian traditions.
Onomastico celebration drink.
We are lucky enough to have both of our names on the same day. I did a bit of searching to find that tidbit.
1 1⁄2 oz Bourbon
Fill a highball glass with cracked ice.
Squeeze the lime half into the glass and drop it in.
Add the bourbon and fill with club soda.
Stir briefly to combine.
Don"t you just want to take a sip?
Hi. My name is Kelley Cole and I am the new Social Media and Event Coordinator for Delaware Housewives in the City. I am a mom to two amazing kids. My daughter (P) is 12 and my son (T) is 8. My husband works for a local education association and also serves on Dover's City Council. I was a high school English teacher for 16 years before leaving the classroom to work part-time as a trainer for an educational software company. I make sure I reserve time to play tennis, read chick lit, travel, and enjoy the small things in life (like wine and chocolate).
