The non-profit we are featuring for October is Gilda’s Club of Evansville. You can’t miss this building with the red door located on Vogel Road. Beyond that red door, you are welcomed into a support community of anyone touched by cancer. It’s a place where people find strength and comfort, share triumphs and learn how to Live with cancer. This facility is free of charge for not only the person with cancer but for the family as well. At Gilda’s, they realize the emotional support is just as essential as medical care. They offer a variety of workshops, classes and activities in a very nice homelike setting. This local cancer support facility is so special in our community as they help young and old, at any stage. Be sure to check out their website as well as Facebook page for upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, etc. Thank you, Gilda’s Club, for everything you do to help families in our community!
Our September Girl’s Night Out event took place on September 12th at Bokeh Lounge, right in the heart of Haynie’s Corner! Bokeh was an awesome spot for our event…they provided a DJ, fabulous drink specials and were so accommodating for us. Door prizes were given to us from local businesses including the grand prize from Tropicana Evansville which was overnight hotel accommodations, dinner certificate and breakfast for 2!
It was a great night of socializing, sipping and shopping our wonderful vendors. In case you missed the event or need vendor information, I have listed all vendors with links below.
Hi! I’m Karen…I was born and raised in a small town in southern Indiana…Santa Claus! I lived in Indianapolis for 20 years as an Event Planner and traveled the nation planning corporate events and private parties. Five years ago, I moved back to beautiful southern Indiana to be closer to family and have an adorable 9 year old boy named Baron. I also own an Event Planning Business in the Tristate and am constantly looking at ways to market my business and network and fell in love with the concept of Housewives In The City!
