On Thursday, April 12th Fidel’s Bourbon Bar above Walton’s Restaurant was the location of our April event….Sip, Socialize and Shop Jewelry! Fidel’s kicked off Wine Tasting Nights with us and we couldn’t have been more excited! Sipping on a glass of wine with friends in this fun environment like Fidel’s made it such a great night!
We were sponsored by Kruckemeyer and Cohn. This jewelry store is located on Burkhardt Rd and has been in business since 1895! It was such an honor working with them on this event. Local celebrities modeled their beautiful jewelry all evening long and provided us with a sneak peek as to what Kruckemeyer and Cohn offer!
Local musician, Angel Rhodes performed all evening and everyone absolutely Loved her! Celebrities helped give out door prizes every hour including a Kruckemeyer and Cohn $200 gift certificate! The swag bags were great as we gave away Housewives in the City wine glasses! And…we featured Young & Established as our local non-profit.
In case you missed this FUN event…go to Kruckemeyer and Cohn and check out all of their jewelry. They have something in every price range….including estate jewelry! And if you don’t see exactly what you want, their master jeweler will create it for you!

A special thank you to channel 44 for having myself and local stylist, Herbert Brumfield on the morning show this week! It was so much fun talking about Kentucky Derby fashion! Herbert and I went to Dillard's and found 3 lovely outfits for different age groups. And, keep in mind...instead of larger hats that cover your face, you can also try a Fascinator. This small headpiece has grown in popularity over the past few years. Click on the link to watch the full interview. 44news.wevv.com/trending-derby-looks/
Each of us has an inner southern belle and we get to express it this time of year! So, grab your hat and join us for Housewives In The City--Run For The Roses Pre Derby Party on Tuesday May 1st from 5:30-8:30pm at Ellis Park Racing. Grab your girlfriends, a mint julep and strut your stuff on the red carpet! It's going to be such a FUN evening!...and...it's FREE! You might even win a Door Prize (Ellis Park is giving away $100 in Free Slot Play every hour) and we are having a Kentucky Derby Hat Contest! Let's have fun Evansville!
Evansville’s first ever Donut Fest was held on Saturday March 17th at the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum. A huge crowd gathered for this family friendly event! Several of the Tristate’s top bakeries and coffee shops were in attendance to offer their specialty items. And…the doughnut eating competition and milk chugging competition were so much fun to watch!! The local band “Oliver 7” provided entertainment for the event and they were awesome! I attended the event as a vendor and had a wonderful time promoting Housewives in the City of Evansville!! A special thank you to EvansvilleEvents.com for providing such great events for our community. They raised over $10,000 for the Evansville Parks’ foundation and allocated to both Kids’ Kingdom 2 and Stop Light City park projects.
Congratulations to the People's Choice Winners:
Best Donut - Donut Bank
Best Coffee - White Swan Coffee Lab
Best Pastry - Acropolis

Join us on February 20th 5:30-8:30pm as we experience this fabulous locally owned restaurant, Pangea Kitchen. When you first walk in this restaurant, you immediately feel as though you are in an Italian market! It is simply amazing! In their words," From old world traditions to new world adaptions, there's something for every taste at Pangea Kitchen." This could not be more true! Some of my favorites include the appetizer, Burrata Toast which is fresh mozzarella filled with ricotta, stracciatella and cream. I also love their unique pizzas as well as Thai cuisine-the Thai Basil Chicken is so delicious! And..you can't leave without trying something in their bakery...everything in their gelato and pastry bar looks so divine!! If you have never experienced Pangea, come join us for our free networking event. We have a TON of Door Prizes! You don't want to miss it!

The First Ever Evansville Wingfest was held on Saturday, January 20th at the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum downtown Evansville. There were 15 different local restaurants in attendance serving up their specialty wings. My friends and I Loved watching the wing eating contest and even the ranch dressing chugging competition! It was such a fun setting at the Coliseum complete with local DJ’s entertaining the crowd, a mechanical bull and face painting for the kids! Thank you Evansville Events for having such a great family friendly day…now, Bring on the Bacon Burger and Beer Fest on April 21st!
Our local non profit for our January event is Uncharted International, Inc. Uncharted started in the hearts and minds of some very mission-minded, globally-focused individuals at a church in Evansville. It quickly began to embrace other churches and expand its reach to more places in the world. Several years ago, it became clear it was time for Uncharted to become it's own movement and organization and have the freedom to work more nimbly so they became a non profit group. They provide medical, educational and economic development in under-resourced countries.
The Uncharted group is currently in Myanmar and will be bringing back handmade items and will be having these products for sale at our January 23rd event! You don't want to miss this!
Their store is located on 400 S Green River Rd and is open 9am-5pm Monday through Friday! I personally bought lots of blankets and scarves for Christmas presents and loved them so much, I went back and bought myself some as well!
Thank you, Uncharted International for being a part of our event!

Hi! I’m Karen…I was born and raised in a small town in southern Indiana…Santa Claus! I lived in Indianapolis for 20 years as an Event Planner and traveled the nation planning corporate events and private parties. Five years ago, I moved back to beautiful southern Indiana to be closer to family and have an adorable 9 year old boy named Baron. I also own an Event Planning Business in the Tristate and am constantly looking at ways to market my business and network and fell in love with the concept of Housewives In The City!
