Our monthly networking events are always so much fun. The people that come together, the businesses we spotlight and the venues all create such a unique and energized vibe. Each event is similar yet so different and April's was exactly that. What a fabulous evening filled with building connections, great food and drink from the Hearth and wonderful locally based businesses.
We missed those of you who could not make it and hope to see you on May 15th at the Gilded Goat Brewing Ladies Networking + Social- RSVP, here. Check out the photos captured by Meghan Younker Photography from this awesome evening.
In the meantime, I wanted to share with you all the businesses that were spotlighted throughout this event. They are all fabulous. If you are in need of their services or products, don't hesitate to contact them. They would love to connect with you. So, here are the Locals We Love: April Edition.
A HUGE thank you to the HEARTH Restaurant and Pub in Windsor for hosting our event this month. What a great space and even though the weather was not patio friendly, their patio is AH-MAZING! We will be back.
“We are going away” my husband tells me last August, destination not to be disclosed until a future date. So I wait and wait AND WAIT. Finally on Christmas he shares our destination with me through the SWEETEST video I have ever watched, and lets me know that we are off to Amsterdam, just the TWO of us. Merry Christmas and Happy Anniversary to us. My husband is amazing. He planned this entire trip on his own and what an amazing time it was. There were so many wonderful places we visited, delicious food we ate, and experiences we had, but the one constant was our delightful hotel. We stayed at The Hoxton, a boutique hotel, which was once home to the Mayor of Amsterdam.
Being centrally located on the Herengracht canal was perfect. It was in a great neighborhood, close to so many cafes, shops, restaurants, museums, canals, transportation, and so much more. It had a welcoming and energizing vibe frequented by travelers and locals. The bar and restaurant was always busy with meetings, chatter, and relaxation. Upon check in we were greeted with a friendly and welcoming team member who took time to get to know about us, our travels, and interests so she could help provide suggestions for to-do’s/hot spots. Upon check in, we were informed that we were put into one of the hotel's three concept rooms.
The Hoxton has a handful of rooms in each hotel that you cannot reserve but you can request. The one we got put into is known as the “Floral” room. It was a great size and had the most AMAZING shower one could ask for. It was a walk in with FOUR shower heads.
The décor in the room was very warm and welcoming. There was a large fireplace that had been redone into a bookshelf and the furniture was modern and chic. The light fixtures were fantastic, especially the large chandelier in the middle of our room. There was so much space (probably the most space I have ever had in a hotel room) and the flooring was a wider planked wood floor in the room itself with tile work in the bathroom. The restored ceiling added class and beauty to the room as well.
In the mornings they provide complimentary breakfast bags. These are bags that are filled with Fresh OJ, a yogurt parfait, and a banana. It was the perfect way to get our day started and it was delivered directly to our room at the requested time. All you have to do is set the bag on a hook outside your room before going to bed and they will make sure it is filled at your request.
This small boutique chain is currently only found it the UK and Europe, but they are opening their first US location this year in Brooklyn, NY. This is a brand we will look for on our travels and will visit again in their other cities. Thank you, Hoxton Amsterdam for an amazing stay and making our experience one filled with wonderful memories. Until next time, Hoxton. Cheers!
The Hoxton can be found in the UK-London: Shoreditch or Holborn; or Europe- Amsterdam.
Locations coming in 2017 in Europe- Paris; and the US- Williamsburg (Brooklyn).
