For our December ladies night out we are featuring CHIP as our featured charity. Children’s Health Investment Program (CHIP) of South Hampton Roads provides services for children, prenatal through age six, in the focus areas of health improvement, reduction of child abuse and neglect, and school readiness. Our voluntary in-home visiting program teams a certified parent educator and a registered nurse with children and families to provide case management, home visitation, health assessments, parent support, education and referrals.
CHIP’s mission is to build a healthy community by building a healthy child. Poverty is the single greatest threat to the long term well-being of a child and recent data show that 1 in 4 children in Hampton Roads live in or near the Federal Poverty Level. Children’s Health Investment Program provides services in Hampton Roads for children through age six and expectant mothers in the focus areas of health improvement, reduction of child abuse and neglect and school readiness.
