Our area really is ideal to travel to some of the best cities in America. We can drive to a lot of them in a matter of hours. I started my month of March off, with a quick girl’s weekend, in the city of country music, NASHVILLE, TN.
My initial reason for traveling to Nashville was for a skincare meeting (www.everskin.com) I was having with several ladies on my team (along with Memphis Housewives InThe City.com blogger, Katy Yates) and Nashville was a central location that was appealing to all of us. I grabbed my 16 year-old daughter and headed down I-64!
We stayed in the Green Hills area, at the Hampton Inn & Suites (literally, right next door to FABULOUS shopping and restaurants). This Hampton Inn had a different aesthetic than most I’ve stayed at, it had that southern, quaint, boutique feel to it, which just enhanced the ambience I was looking for in my getaway. My daughter and I literally could walk to my Friday night restaurant meeting location from our hotel, had a great “kick-off” dinner (but a more fabulous dessert!) with some ladies from my team that I had not yet met in person and started the weekend off with a bang!
DAY 2- Ever Skincare goes to Pinewood Social!
I am not a big breakfast person, but Brunch? Brunch I can do! The ladies and I need to make the most of our time together, so we head to the restaurant, Pinewood Social. Talk about FABULOUS, this is one of the most unique places I’ve ever been to for breakfast! Pinewood Social is a great place to sit down, chillax, have a cup of coffee (or Espresso, in my case) and experience their take on breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Everything our party ordered, received an “Ooo and Ahh” when the servers placed them in front of us. We ended our meeting with a full stomach, a big smile and high praises for the Pinewood Social experience!
(What I didn't post a picture of because I took a video that I'm having difficulty loading, is the 3 Bowling Lanes in the REAR of the restaurant! Looks like it has been there since the 50's, these retro bowling lanes were packed at 11:00am with 2 Bachelorette parties, a family and a few men just getting their BOWL on!)
In case you missed us at our February GNO, check out our spotlight businesses who made our event a splash! We had a few men at this Girls Night Out, they were "showcasing" their businesses as well. I commend Terry Callihan and Chris Hayes on surrounding themselves in a "sea of women"!
A BIG "Thank You" to Margaritas Mexican Grill & Bar for hosting our Girls Night Out, the staff was amazing and made all of our ladies feel so special (not to mention the margaritas were AWESOME)
I am finalizing the details of our March GNO, location will be announced here on the Blog, as well as our Facebook Event pages. Check back weekly for updates as well as what is happening with the Huntington Housewives.

Happy New Year Huntington! 2016 is finally over and as I reflect back, one thing comes to mind…..unfortunately, a lot of people passed away in 2016. I know this sounds like a depressing way to start the year, but stick with me here…..
A total of 166 Celebrities, Political figures, Singers & Songwriters passed away in 2016 alone. Some of the most memorable (but maybe you’ve forgotten already) were; David Bowie, Alan Rickman (Harry Potter Fans will remember) Glen Frye, Nancy Reagan, Merle Haggard, Doris Roberts, Chyna (WWE Wrestler) Prince, Muhammad Ali, Arnold Palmer and Florence Henderson. Then there was the dreaded December where just about EVERY DAY in December had a death.
I don’t know about you, but I am SO ready to say “hello 2017”!
I’ve decided life IS too short and I want to live my life to the fullest and have NO regrets, NO “I should a, could a, would a’s” in my life. I want to enjoy my daughter before she goes off to college, I want to spend time with my friends and extended family, I want to EXPERIENCE life, itself and not wonder “what if”. I have created a BUCKET LIST, how many of you have a BUCKET LIST?? I love to travel, so the majority of my list is going to places in the world I want to see, things I want to do and food I want to eat.
As we move through the year and I mark things off my list, I will let you know! I wonder how many of us have the same things on our lists. Make sure to “Like” our FB page (Huntington Housewives In The City) because I’m going to be posting things I find from other peoples “bucket list” as well.
Once I start marking items off my list, WILL my life change? WILL I feel I’ve lived my life to the fullest? All I can do is start and live life 1 day at a time and hope I have enough days to say “yes”
With the Christmas Season in full swing, I have to take a minute and ask myself "Did I help someone this year?" "Did I make a difference in someone's life for the good?" If you are asking yourself that same question, hopefully, you are happy with your answer. If you are asking yourself "How can I do more in 2017", Huntington Housewives In The City can help you acheive that goal!
Housewives In The City tries to partner with a grass-roots, local charity at EACH of our events. If our goal is to help create a better community, then it must start with GIVING to our community. We will be seeking out companies that need the Huntington (and surrounding areas) community, to step up and help these companies or organizations, meet there needs. We NEVER collect money for these charities, so you will never be asked to give money at the door at our FREE events, we will be collecting donations of other sorts. So, keep our events in mind when you see an organization that needs help in bringing awareness to the community and message us or comment on our event pages!
