Hey Everyone!! Thanks for stopping by! One of my goals for 2018 is to get this blog up and running, I will do an introductory post soon...but for now here's a little bit about Indianapolis Housewives!
My name is Liza and I am super excited to be introducing Indianapolis Housewives to you all! I will try my best to keep you up to date with the latest happening around town, get to know local businesses, some of the best restaurants, and exclusive invites to our Monthly Girl's Night Out Events. I can't wait to meet and connect with more of you...so far it's been such a fun ride!! Can't wait to see what 2018 has in store!!
For now, here are my hubby and my top 5 FAVE restaurants around Indianapolis to do our Valentine's Day date night :) Be sure to check them out, and if there's anything I've learned- it's make those reservations EARLY!!
1.) Stone Creek Dining Company
Stone Creek is our "go to" for any special occasion date night, it is our absolute fave...*reasonably* priced and you can get a really awesome steak that is cheaper than most fancy steak houses. I'm pretty predictable and tend to get the same dish when I find something I LOVE! My 'go to' is usually the steak medallions with lobster risotto, seriously the lobster risotto is to-die-for!! Their Sea Bass is also SO SO good!! Can't forget my fave part of the whole meal- DESSERT- I like to think of myself as a bread pudding connoisseur, I will always try it if it's on the menu...my favorite bread pudding of all time!!
Get your reservations early, they book QUICK!
2.) Ocean Prime
Next up on the list is a fun seafood restaurant that we have enjoyed since it opened. First things first, let's talk cocktails.... two. words. BERRIES & BUBBLES -YOU GUYS, this little concoction is soooo yummy...dangerously yummy to be exact. I even called them and begged for the recipe so I could serve it for all the ladies at my hubby's 30th bday party. It's so fun, girly and made with dry ice and it bubbles...and it doesn't even taste like there's any alcohol in it. There's your warning, ha! It sneaks up on you, so don't have toooo many.
Hubby is a steak guy, but sometimes I crave a really good piece of fish. Their shrimp cocktail is one of our faves, and my go to for dinner is the Chilean Sea Bass with their whipped potatoes and champagne truffle sauce. I think I forgot to breathe the first time I ate it, soooo decadent. Can't go wrong with any of their desserts, but my fave is the warm butter cake with berries and ice cream DELISH!
3.) Capri Italian Ristorante
If anyone knows how to win you over with their love of food, it's the Italians....growing up eating tons of authentic Italian (thank you to my Grandma) I had to throw in one of my fave Italian places! The Italians know how to do love and romance 100%-besides the food one of the things I LOVE about Capri, is their atmosphere....it is SO cozy and their wood burning fireplace adds a great element of romance...tons of old Italian pictures, reminds me of all the small quaint restaurants in Italy. They have the cutest outdoor seating, so be sure to check them out during spring and summer too!!
My favorite appetizer to get at any Italian restaurant is the Insalata Caprese- so fresh and the mozzarella is melt-in-your-mouth good! I have lots of pasta faves here...the Ravioli Aurora-filled with ricotta and spinach, sautéed in tomato cream sauce is soooo good....craving it as I'm writing about it!! Hubbies go to is always a steak or the Spaghetti Bolognese. Dessert- I ALWAYS go for the Spumoni-3 different layers of Gelato!! SOOO YUMMY!
4.) The Northside Social
Another restaurant in town with an awesome atmosphere!! Atmosphere is a big factor when I'm picking out a date night restaurant, drives my hubby crazy but if it's not a fun atmosphere---I'm out.
My faves on the menu are the mushroom risotto, and the blackened shrimp with the coconut grits. The risotto can be a tad a rich, but worth every single calorie!!
My go to dessert is the Coconut Cake, anything coconut you can find me going back for seconds!! Also another fun restaurant to visit in the summer time!
5.) Napolese Pizzeria
Last but not least is for the couple who is in the mood for a super casual Valentine's Day...sometimes my hubby and I don't feel like going all out and a slice of pizza will hit the spot, but still gives the date night vibe. Also-any restaurant owned by Martha Hoover is an A+++ in my book!! All their ingredients is local, which I LOVE! Their salads change seasonally and I can never pick a favorite, they are all fantastic!! Our fave appetizer is the Baked Capriole Goat Cheese...another melt-in-your-mouth good!! I'm super boring when it comes to pizza and you can usually find me ordering a Margherita pizza...something about a plain cheese pizza is soooo good!! AND their pizza are made in a wood burning oven- the best kind of pizza in my book! Check out the Patachou Premium Gelato...ALWAYS room for Gelato!!
Sometimes deciding on where to eat for Valentine's Day or date night can be a little stressful (if you're anything like us, it usually takes a while to decide!) Hopefully this list will make your planning a little easier! Have a fantastic Valentine's Day!! Let me know in the comments what your fave go to's are!!
