My little, big guy started VPK last Monday. He loves it and loves his two teachers. From Monday-Thursday he walked right in with no problems. Thursday evening I explained that he had one more day of school then he would be with us for two days before going back. His response was, "I don't like that. I want to be at school." However, Friday came around and the reality of having to go 5 days of the week started sinking in. He didn't want me to leave, asked if I would stay. His teacher had to take him. Today, well, today he was ready to go.... until we got to his room. I had to peel him off of me. I tried talking, tried getting away really fast, but he was right behind me! Needless to say the teacher had to get him, again. I'm hoping this stops soon! I look in the little window after leaving to check on him and he's absolutely fine once I'm gone, but it just breaks my heart!
I just got back home today from a whole two weeks away. It was partly vacation and partly work. I left Florida and went to Alabama for half a week where I did an awesome shoot with my brother and his girlfriend. We hiked down to a waterfall, we didn't go all the way down to the bottom - I wouldn't have made the hike back up!
Chris came up the following week and he, GG and I went to visit my great friend and soul sister, Krissy, and her children. It was GG's first flight and he did SO well!! Not a single problem! He loved it! Check out my instagram or facebook to see pictures! There's way too many to add here!!! We had an amazing time and didn't want to leave. After returning Chris came back to Florida for work while GG and I went to Georgia for more photo shoots!

Last night my four year old went on what he believes to be his first "date". We'll call her "R", her parents are friends of ours and she's four years older than our little man, GG. GG had been in "love" with her since he met her - I'm talking, "Mom do my hair before "R" gets here so I can look like a cool guy." Yeah, he has it bad! He was very excited that we were picking her up to go to a movie with us. Then the panic sat in... he wanted to give her a flower, but didn't have a flower to give her. Mommie to the rescue! I made a small bouquet for him. Nothing fancy, but it was good enough!
We went to see Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation which didn't disappoint. It was very cute and the kids enjoyed it.

We try to vacation at my in-law's cabin every year. There's only been one year since our son, GG, has been alive that we haven't made it. Every year we take a picture sitting on the fire place. This year GG decided that he didn't want to sit on daddy's lap. Here is a collage of the pictures. GG at 3 months, 1 year, 3 years and the bottom was this week at 4 years old.
The cabin is on a mountain close to Waynesville and Maggie Valley North Carolina. It's secluded enough to enjoy the quiet sounds of nature and see fireflies dancing all around in the dark.
We always make sure we visit Cherokee, Bryson City and the Nantahala Outdoor Center - even when we aren't white water rafting. GG had a cold which caused his asthma to flare up so after that first day we didn't do a whole bunch. We had to keep him inside as much as possible. He was in bed a full hour before dark, so we missed out on the fireworks, but we still had a great 4th. Besides, I'll choose fireflies over fireworks every time!
This time, on our way back home Thursday, we tried something new. I found a kids museum in Columbia so we stopped for GG to stretch his legs and play. He had so much fun!
