Hi my name is Charlii and I am a product whore, junkie or whatever you want to call it. I LOVE HAIR PRODUCTS!!! So I had to put myself on a product line purchasing limit b/c there are just so many but I need to slow down and use up what I have or throw some stuff away so I can make room for new lovlies! I have tried so many different products, Shea Moisture, Cantu, RedKin, Curls, and Pureology, just to name a few.
When I first went natural Cantu's Leave-in Conditioner was a holy grail product for me but as my hair grew so did its preferred taste in products. How did I know my hair was out growing the Cantu leave-in? My hair was no longer feeling soft, it became hard to manage and my styles were not coming out the way they use to. This is what I mean when I said listening to your hair is a MAJOR KEY. Know when products are changing, noticing that your hair is changing, and know when its time to grade or switch up your products. I'm not saying you have to break the bank to have good looking hair but you want to love on and care for your strands so they will be happy and healthy.
Next I went for the Shea Moisture line and it also worked for a few but it too started to change and my hair was saying singing "no,no,no,no,no". I tried dang near every line Shea Moisture had to offer but it was all a no go, my hair was still left feeling, dry. That's how it ended up with all the products, I would deep condition, hot oil treat, and my hair would be alright for a minute but I found myself manipulating it entirely too much. Then I attended the best school ever, Youtube University, lol.
Pt. 3 My product finds on Youtube and how they saved my hair.

I am often asked how to I get my hair so curly, how do I achieve the Perfect Twist Out, Bantu Knot Out, Roller Set, and etc. Well I am here to give you my personal tips and tricks to a bomb twist out, healthy hair, length retention! This will be a series so be sure to stay tuned as I hip you to what I do and exactly how I do it!. I will preface this by saying I am NOT nor WILL I EVER BE a hair stylist. These tips and tricks are what I have seen work for me and I am just trying to help all my curl friends achieve their hair goals.
First and foremost I listen closely to my hair. This is a MAJOR KEY ALERT! Do you hear what your hair is telling you? Do you know what products your hair hates vs what it loves? I have high-porosity hair. Meaning products do not just sit on my strands they completely soak up water oils and whatever else I put in it. I also touch my hair, not in a manipulation sense but I touch my hair a few days after washing to see how much oil is still left on my hair before it starts to feel unbearably dry. This tells me when I should touch up my hair so it can remain soft and manageable, because lets face it.. who wants dry brittle hair??
I am a product junkie. I do my research on what products work best for my hair type and porosity. You have to be okay with the possibility of wasting money BUT if you do your research right you wont have to worry.

Stay Tuned ANGELS!! XOXO
I was at my usual nail appointment last week and my nail tech and I were talking our favorite subject FOOD! She mentioned this place named the Shack. She exclaimed the shack is hands down THE BEST BREAKFAST SPOT IN KC. Well... being the breakfast connoisseur that I am I made up in my mind that I had to try this place out asap! So I went on Saturday at 1:30, they close at 2 but they may as well stay open until 3 as people were still coming in waiting to eat. You know how we get down over here Read below for me review!
Rating: 15/10, all I have to say is I will request to sit in Jessica's section every time. Not only was she attentive but she made sure we understood how our order came prepared, what the items came with and just made our experience very enjoyable.
Food: House Smoked Salmon, $12
Now this is possibly an acquired taste. This delectable meal comes on a piece of rye bread with with tomatoes, red onions, capers dill creme fraiche, smoked salmon and a sunny side egg on top. I am not a sunny side person so I subbed that for egg whites. This meal came with a side of strawberries and blueberries. This was perfection, I have had a variation of the smoked salmon on my cruise to Alaska and this meal took me right back to the cruise. Simply put this meal was De-Damn-licious and I cannot wait to try what else the Shack has to offer!.
Polga, the art of completing yoga exercises while using a pole. Let me start by saying... POLGA KICKED MY ASS! It was partly my fault because I didn't eat enough and I also did not drink a lot of water during the day. I went in thinking that I work out frequently so I should have the stamina to do an hour of polga. GIRL NO! Carla Frankoviglia-Mock Gilfry is a B-E-A-ST with the Polga moves, the photos above are just a few of the moves we completed in the hour long session. In semi completing the polga class I definitely learned I need to go back every Monday because I am not doing enough at the gym and this is also a shock to my body and releases more of the nasty toxins through stretching. Her class is every Monday 6pm-7pm for $9. The class very intimate, the participants are nice and welcoming, Carla is a lot of fun, a great encourager but most of all patient. I encourage everyone to try Polga at least once, you will thank me as you will be hooked! Check out her studio Fimb Wellness at 6133 Blue Ridge Blvd in Raytown, MO.
Be sure to tell her Housewives sent you!
"Communication is the key to life. Communication is the key to love. There's over a thousand ways to communicate in our world today, and its a shame that we don't connect." -TLC Fanmail Album
Who remembers the days of talking for hours on the phone, gathering up your friends to go to the mall, writing letters to your friends about you day and learning origami just to fold the letter in a cool way to give to your friend during passing period.
The days of physical interaction appear to have faded into a dark past. Growing up people use to go outside and play tag, hopscotch, jump rope, ride bikes etc, that now has been replaced with social media. It is so easy to talk to a person over a computer because you can be whoever you want to be and have the confidence you never thought you would have, but what about when you meet face to face? when you face-time, google duo, or attend a social gathering are you able to provide that same communication? Are you able to CONNECT outside of the internet? Are you capable of having live human interaction?
Lets discuss, Do you think social media has caused a downward spiral in communication? What about restoration how can we bring back interaction and connection?
Valentines day is tomorrow and of course there are Valentine events going on all around the city. My family members and I recently visited two of these events. They were nice but the one thing that was missing and that always seems to be missing is the eligible bachelors. The bachelorette's come out in the masses making it about 10 women to 1 man, literally one good looking, standing out from the rest man. The lack of men at social events leaves you to wonder is there something wrong with the city or is the city man-less?? I mean why aren't more single men running to single events? Is there a lack of appeal, not emotionally ready, never meet anyone, weather, its a laundry day, just what is it exactly?
I've often wondered about what makes men come out in droves, then I thought of an event I frequent on the first Saturday of every month. Its always packed and I wondered where were all these men at the last event? Then it hit me, maybe its because there no incentive for the men, yes I know you would think women would be enough but.... Women get free be fore 11, $5 before 10 and drink specials. The first Saturday event is always free before 10 and $5 after. It stands to reason that maybe appreciation should be shown to both so the homie/lover/friend seekers will have greater chances.
Lets talk about it, comment down below your thoughts.... Is there something wrong with the City or Is the City Man-less??

So last week a friend and I were in a celebratory mood as both received some great news. so what do you do when you celebrate? EAT! She suggested Jose Peppers and I was extremely hesitant. I had eaten there a time before and left feeling unsatisfied and upset that money and time was wasted. I decided its been some time so maybe it has Gotten better, so I gave it a shot and below is what I thought.

So who is Charlii B? I am a Kansas City, MO native that has a passion for all things fashion, a huge foodie, except for nuts, I'm allergic. I also enjoy working out, reading, comedy shows and really anything fun that will have me out of the house. All in all I just like being around positive like minded people who want to climb the latter to personal success while having some good food and drinks along the way.
I hope you'll stick around for the ride through the city and if you do, be kind to someone and bring them along for the ride too!!
