This past weekend the boys and I went to see Sesame Street Live - Make Your Magic! @ Eagle Bank Arena and even though I spent more money on bubble lights, cookie monster cookies and cotton candy than the cost of the show ticket... we had a blast!
The kids loved every minute of the show and it was actually entertaining for me too. They use the beat and tempos from top hit songs and change the words for the show so the adults recognize the tunes and naturally start dancing right along with the kids.
There are little lessons hidden within the show about never giving up and following directions that the kids are learning something while also being entertained.
It was a great show for adults AND kids!
Stomp @ The National Theatre
I am SO excited that Stomp is coming to DC from April 23 - 28th! When I was living in California and frequently visiting Las Vegas in my college days this was always one of the shows I wanted to see when there but never got a chance to. Now, its here and I am so excited to see it. I find it so amazing when anyone makes music and good music, in a unique way.
I have a special promo code for you too - The National Theatre is hosting a family night Wednesday April 24th and all tickets are buy one get one FREE with the code FAMILY. Arrive a little early and head up to the 2nd floor Helen Hayes lounge before the show from 6:30-7:30pm for special family night activities. Grab your tickets here.
Eagle Bank Arena May 4-5, 2019

🎶 Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh, chubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff. He's Winnie the….. 🎶
Who doesn’t love happy go lucky Pooh bear?! Over the weekend I got to take AJ to see Winnie the Pooh at Adventure Theatre MTC in Glen Echo Park. Can you believe I have actually never seen a show there and AJ is almost 6 years old! However, I do feel like he was at THE. PERFECT. age to sit through the perfectly timed hour long show and actually understand the story and the little lessons weaved into it and I am SO glad we finally went! It’s so stinkin’ adorable!
The Adventure Theatre has been putting on shows for so many years and produces several professional family productions annually. Mostly all that are stage adaptations of popular children's literature and stories. This small intimate theatre also offers autism/sensory-friendly performances. Past shows have included, Blueberries for Sal, Fancy Nancy’s Slendiferous Christmas and Huckleberry Finn’s Big River.
This performance of Winnie the Pooh captures the true joy of Pooh and I can honestly say as an adult, I laughed out loud right with the kids. Winnie the Pooh and Piglet are on an adventure to catch a Heffalump, help Rabbit scheme to get rid of Kanga and her dreaded bathtub and help Eeyore find his oh so lost tail. The actors have exceptional singing voices and truly do an amazing job at engaging the audience of all ages, young and old.
Here are a few tips before you go:
Hi!! First off, Im sorry this introduction took so long… I wanted it to be perfect and then I realized that’s not why I am here. I’m here to be real, to provide a real place for real MoCo Housewives to come network and meet more real and friendly faces in our area. I'm no different than you so this is me in a few blurbs… take it or leave it but I hope you take it.
How I Would Describe Myself in Three Words: Creative, Caring + Organized.
I once asked my friends and family to email me three words that described me. It’s amazing to see how many times certain words come up and overlap. You should do it - it’s interesting to see how certain people in your life see you and what words they choose to describe you. The top three words from this experiment are what I now use to describe myself when someone says, “tell me about yourself”.
Me and My Little Family:
I was born and raised in Southern California. After meeting my husband in college he, well, maybe love, convinced me to move to the East Coast. I’ve been here since and haven’t looked back. We have been married for almost 8 years and have two little boys together. I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into moving across the country and marrying into a crazy Greek family but after all the learning curves it’s been a wonderful thing. The boys and I love exploring all that this great area has to offer and when we can get some time away we love to vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC.
My favorite places in MoCo:
Pike & Rose - There are too many favorites here for me to just pick one. I love this whole place!
Target (Rockville, Gaithersburg & Germantown) - Doesn’t shopping at one Target just get boring after a while?! #targetaddict You have to mix it up every once in a while and these three are my favorite ones in the area.
Guapos - Mexican food in Southern California is on point… this is the closest thing to authentic California Mexican food I have found in the DMV.
It’s no secret that MOCO Housewives is a BIG fan of the Clarksburg Premium Outlets. Their MOCO-based location is appealing for its short commute, the beautifully maintained grounds and the wide variety of stores; which makes them one of my most frequented shopping venues. One store that has always stood out to me is Carlisle; located in their premium corridor on the second floor. “This store never ceases to amaze me” – says my closet!
MOCO Housewives has been fortunate enough to work with Carlisle’s amazing manager Lara McKeever and their attentive staff on many occasions; acquainting our “Housewives” to this sophisticated, stylish, impeccably-made clothing at reasonable prices only available at the outlets. Apart from their amazing collection of clothing season after season, it’s a total treat to visit for their attentive care, complimentary styling and amazing displays of hospitality.
If you haven’t been to any of our Carlisle events, you are really missing out on something special! Their management always keep things fresh and fun in their pristine store; offering more events than we can even keep track of. If you haven’t been to Carlisle yet, make sure to visit the Carlisle, Clarksburg store for their new Fall 2018 collection and to get on the radar for their next amazing event. Your wardrobe will thank me!
In the meantime, enjoy some highlights from some fabulous Carlisle events. Until the next event…

While the weather dealt us a mean blow, Simon Outlet staff jumped in promptly to ensure guests were kept dry by giving out complimentary Simon umbrellas and re-routing the entrance to their *tented* VIP-reception. Their customer-centric beliefs were truly evident in their accommodations and hospitality. Guests mingled amongst the ambiance, include beautiful floral arrangements and the music of a talented steel-drum band. Each guest enjoyed a generous spread of Caribbean-inspired fair and refreshing drinks while we waited for the rain to pass. Once the rain subsided, guests were dispatched in pre-arranged groups to experience what each of the seven star brands were featuring. The lovely Allie Proko from Philadelphia Housewives joined us for the evening to lead the coverage of this event for MOCO Housewives. Here at Housewives in the City, we don't engage in controversial topics such as politics, religion, etc. Our goal is not to stir up feelings of negativity but rather to build up our community. And that is why it is so important for us, our loved ones, our neighbors (EVERYONE) to go out and exercise your voice in a meaningful way during the 2018 elections! I won't share my preferences, ,impress my beliefs upon anyone or seek to incite any type of debate here. My only objective is to serve as a reminder that a very pivotal time is approaching and each of us has a role in determining the future of our great nation!
I personally can't think of ANYTHING more important to do this year than to:
A. REGISTER TO VOTE BY OCTOBER 16
I urge everyone to register to vote. Each vote counts! If you are not sure that you are registered, make sure you confirm your registration. Voting is a privilege that we cannot toss away! Many have fought for this right and in our own country, we have friends and neighbors that would love to have this right granted to them.. Don't throw this away!
B. VOTE ON NOVEMBER 6
GET OUT THERE AND VOTE on November 6! We all have political opinions and preferences. Posting them to social media (which I sure know I do!) and laughing along with comical spoofs and funny memes (also guilty!) in support of or condemnation of any candidate does absolutely NOTHING for the cause! It makes no impact whatsoever. The only way to effect change is to exercise your RIGHT to VOTE!
Let's do this!
DEADLINE TO REGISTER: 10/16/18
GENERAL ELECTION: 11/06/18
Interested in an absentee ballot?
