Easter Sunday takes place in just one week on Sunday, April 16. If you are operating anything like my household, there is still so much to do… from planning Easter activities with the kiddos, preparing an Easter wreath, planning/purchasing their baskets…. Oh! And then there is Easter Dinner! This year, Whole Foods Market has you covered on dinner with their Easter 2017 catering menu featuring delicious comfort foods as well as healthy alternatives sure to satisfy all Easter Feasters! Whole Foods Market’s extensive Easter menu makes it easy for busy Montgomery County families to “stay ahead of the holiday curve” by outsourcing meal prep to Whole Foods Market. Then all you have to do is “heat & eat”!
Ordering can be done via their website or you can choose to visit your local Whole Foods Market and place your order in person. They’ve designed their offering so that you can conveniently select a preset menu or you can opt to order a la carte. Either way, you can proudly check a big item off of your Easter To-Do list!
Trust me, when I say “it’s gooooooood”!
This year Whole Foods Market generously donated a variety of items from their delicious Easter catering offering for our more than 100 Easter guests-in-training. Each year, hundreds of volunteers come together to ensure the success of my church’s largest Outreach Event: Easter Eggstravaganza! Journey’s Crossing, a Germantown-based church, hosts the largest annual Easter celebration in the North-side of the county; and perhaps it’s the largest Easter Celebration in the entire county! With the volume of the event ever-expanding each year, it is imperative to focus on proper planning, and most importantly; TRAINING of our hundreds of volunteers.
This year, Journey’s Crossing partnered up with our local Whole Foods Market for our member training luncheon on April 2. Those present at our training program can attest to the ease and deliciousness of our catered lunch; featuring just “the tip of the iceberg” of the extensive menu that customers can choose from. The only thing lacking at our Whole Foods Market-sponsored feast were a few decorative platters to display the main course and accompaniments; to give it the justice that it so well deserved for our photos!
Our volunteer crew enjoyed the Spiral Sliced Glazed Ham. I heard comment after comment about it being the most flavorful, perfectly cooked, juicy ham that our guests have ever tasted. I definitely shared that same sentiment. Accompanying our ham was their Wild & Basmati Rice with Peas & [toasted] Pistachios, as well as their oven-roasted Carrots & Parsnips with Coriander & Honey. Both side dishes were the perfect complement to our main dish; both unique and extremely delicious. I actually feel like I *need* the rice recipe to make my life complete. We rounded off our meal with a couple of trays of a variety of Whole Food Market’s moist, chewy cookies.
A common theme to their menu is traditional plates with a modern, gourmet twist and each one echoes Whole Food Market’s commitment to their high quality standards. While we were completely satisfied with our own order, you can customize your own order. The menu features additional main plates such as their Roasted Dill Salmon, Herb Roasted Turkey Breast, Rotisserie Herb Chicken and more. Additional side dishes include Roasted Potatoes with Leeks, Asparagus with Farro & Orange, Bacon & Thyme Braised Onions and more.
I encourage you to check out the menu online. You can even take advantage of Whole Food Market’s online ordering platform. Then choose if you would like to pick up your items on the 14th, 15th or 16th. Your fully cooked food will be ready to heat and then ready to eat!
After all, with Easter creeping closer and closer into the horizon, take the burden off your plate and put it on Whole Foods’ plate. I know that they will happily accept the honor of being a focal feature for your upcoming holiday celebration. And while you’re in there, don’t forget to pick up a fresh bouquet of Spring Blooms and check out their pre-made Easter Baskets for a super, easy-peasy Easter!
