We are thrilled to have Mary Ellen joining us as our next fabulous vendor!
As always, here is our interview with the wonderful Mary Ellen Crisp!
Question: Do you have a website?
Q: What is your product/service? Who is your target audience?
A: Cleaning & personal care products that improve the quality of life by radically reducing the chemicals used in your home (clean 90% of your home using only water). Everyone can benefit from/use these products, although I've decided that my target market is open-minded people -- those who would value learning about a better way to take care of their homes, take care of their families and take care of the environment. Mainly women.
Q: What sets your product/service apart from your competitors?
A: They work! Not only are they a better way to clean, they will save you time and money!
Q: How long have you been in business? Where are you located?
A: I've been a Norwex Independent Sales Consultant for one year. Located in New Bern.
Q: Is there anything you would like potential customers and readers of our blog to know about you and your business?
A: The main reason that I sell Norwex and want to grow my business is because I love the products. The first time I used them, I was super impressed. It was like finding a new restaurant or reading a great book -- I wanted to share it with everyone! And the more people I talked to, the more I found that have never heard of Norwex. As I explored the business opportunity, I became equally impressed with the company. And now, other than my family, there's nothing that I am more passionate about.
Q: Describe yourself in three words:
A: Determined, loyal, quiet
Q: Tell us about your business and how you became the successful business woman you are today.
A: I never had a desire to enter the direct sales business, and as I said before, the main reason I did is my belief in these products and the mission of Norwex. This is definitely a big step out of my comfort zone, yet I have enjoyed the business and the professional and personal growth that have come with it.
Q: What are your top three favorite people/places/things to do in New Bern?
A: Enjoy meeting friends at the Thirsty Bruin on Friday nights and figuring out where to eat afterwards. Working out at Sound Fitness. Dinner parties/game nights with friends at our house.
Q: What do you consider your greatest professional achievement?
A: Starting my Norwex business.
Q: What are your professional goals for the next six months?
A: Grow my business, develop a team, and eventually quit my "real" job to focus on this business (although that's probably >6 months away).
Q: What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
A: I would like to be an event planner.
Q: Do you have any advice for women who'd like to start their own company?
A: Go for it!
Thanks for your time Mary Ellen. These products sound like awesome solutions to all the chemicals we are forced to use to clean. There is no way that using so much bleach on everything is healthy for me or my family. It takes a lot of courage to forge your own path as the owner of your own company. You are very inspiring and we hope that all the other leading ladies of New Bern will also be inspired to take their careers into their own hands!
Mary Ellen, thanks so much for joining us at our next event. We are so excited to have you and to learn about "Norwex" and their fabulous cleaning products. They sound wonderful.
Before we go, we would like to remind you that our next event will be July 20th at Circa 1810 at the Harvey Mansion - 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM EST. It's going to be a great night. Don't miss out on all of the fun!
Please stop by and support New Bern's local businesses, have a great time and try out amazing products.
Until next time!
