Catch this throwback...Remember those good ole' days..you got the baby and brought the cake to school. Those days come back to me after I taste a piece of really good king cake. I really liked McKenzies original king cakes. They were the best back in the day.
King Cakes can be found in grocery stores, bakeries and coffee houses. The city has a King Cake festival each year. The festival is usually held in January. Cakes come in all different flavors like Baskin and Robbins. I think I may have tried every flavor King Cake so here is the coffee and the tea. Some people prefer light, not-too-sweet cakes; others want one stuffed with cream cheese and jam. My favorites are a variety from old school/ traditional to all sorts of strawberry/raspberry cream filling. I really like the taste of the praline and cream cheese filled cakes.
