Nenriki Therapy, LLC
Tell us about your business and how you became the successful business woman you are today. How did you get the courage to open your own business?
I am a Massage Therapist by trade and founded our Healing Center by purpose.
At our Center, we focus on healing through culture, art and self care practices.
Our mission is to help you gain a deep sense of wholeness, allowing your inner self to bloom and give wings to your soul.
Since I was a child I wanted to be in business for myself. I believe entrepreneurship was in my bloodline. When I decided to open my location, it was out of necessity in order to fund my upcoming wedding. Six months after we opened the doors, my engagement ended and my true motivation kicked in. I realized many of us struggle with navigating life's roadblocks and are in desperate need of a safe place to relax in order to intimately explore ourselves on a mental and emotional level. Nenriki Therapy is constantly evolving, as I evolve, as a woman.
My week generally consists of 25-30 massage hours and a minimum of 20 hours of planning, marketing, networking and creating after hours of just THINKING, lol.
I've developed a level of "blind faith" and optimism. One thing I know for sure is that I am not attracted to the alternative of entrepreneurship. That alone keeps me in or redirects me back into a positive mental state. I am EXACTLY where I am supposed to be at this place and time.
Describe yourself in three words:
passionate, resilient and silly
What do you consider your greatest professional achievement?
I haven't reached it yet
What are your professional goals for the next six months?
Aligning. Being more active in the community.
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
How do you maintain a work/life balance?
I'm still learning how to define BALANCE. My current attempt is to build social events within my practice. So although I am not fully stepping away, it does offer an illusion and slight reprieve.
What websites do you visit every day?
I am big on Social Media. So you'll find me browsing/posting on Facebook & Instagram. YouTube is also popular for me. Valuetainment is my current favorite channel.
What are your top three favorite people/places/things to do in your city?
I try to support local business as much as possible. In Northvale, my "go to" locations are Gallery Nails, Lipstick & Magic Tricks, Greek Village (their greek salad is amazing and it's BYOB!) and my family's new favorite is Stokes Farm in Old Tappan, NJ.
What is your goal for retirement?
I will always be active professionally in some capacity and would love to spend my time sharing the knowledge as a mentor.
Do you have any advice for women who'd like to start their own company?
Just do it. Even if all the pieces aren't together. It's a beautiful journey with ups and downs so be sure to have a support system in place. People you can vent to or simply escape with. The latter is sometimes more important than the former.
Any final comments?
"The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. Danger is very real, but fear is a choice."
