With the kids out of school, Father’s Day and Fourth of July on the horizon, and summertime in full swing, it’s time to move meal prep out of the kitchen and onto the grill. A recent survey found that when it comes to the grill, 69% of Americans choose beef.
Before you fire up the coals or flip on the gas, best to keep a few important tips in mind. Some cuts of beef are better on the grill, like Strip Steak, Flank or Ribeye. Whatever your preference, always season your beef before cooking – either with simple spices like salt, pepper and garlic powder, or a marinade for more complex flavoring. Tender cuts can be marinated for as little as 15 minutes, while less tender cuts, such as Flank, should be marinated for 6 hours up to a day before you cook it. Finally, to keep your family & guests safe, never leave uncooked beef sitting out – always take it directly from the refrigerator to the grill, and keep your grill covered while your beef is cooking.
Now that you have some tips to keep in mind, take your grilling up a notch. Dish up Grilled Ribeye Steaks with Potatoes and Smoky Paprika Rub, which features slight heat from paprika and chili powder, or if you like a little sweet with your heat, Chipotle-Marinated Beef Flank Steak is always a crowd-pleaser (slice it in strips for pick-up-and-go-play tacos). Looking for a few more greens to go with your meat? Red, White and Beef Salad is a refreshing way to pair beef with vegetables, and Beef Strip Steaks with Grilled Balsamic Vegetables is perfect for dinner out on the deck (a great 30-minute meal for any night of the week).
