new year. same me. same silly resolutions: work out more, eat healthier, save money, and be awesome. (i did, somehow, make it to the gym at the crack of dawn this morning!)
i wish i could be as simple as my mom. her resolution is to invest time in herself and get a minimum of two manicures each month. how wonderful is that?
this year, i'm going to be throwing a few resolutions into the mix: be happier and build new relationships.
first, i want to do something that makes me happy. (not)surprisingly, social media/blogging makes me happy! and the entire industry (yes, it's an industry) of mom/women-bloggers is such a positive place to be.
i went to an event a few weeks back that was hosted by Jessica from A Parent in Silver Spring and got to meet dozens of lovely ladies - and the smiles were contagious! everyone absolutely loved what they were doing. moms are always gushing about what their kids are doing. might as well get paid for it, right?
i realized during that brief two hours that i couldn't be wasting any more time (than absolutely necessary) doing something (a real life job) that i didn't like.
my other goal is to build new relationships - whether it's in my neighborhood, through social media, or through play dates. i need to expand my social circles and be more open to newbies. i hate to admit that i've been negative towards some people without giving them a chance (thanks, Anita, for calling me out).
for starters, i'm grabbing a drink with Micaela from superNOVAmommy tonight! she has been such a great mentor for me. i absolutely love her! stay tuned... we are doing big things next month ;-)
Hi! my name is Andrea and I'm a not-so-average Northern Virginia blogger, mom, and transplant from the Midwest. I host Girls Night Out events, meet ups, and write about events and my adventures in the DC area. I love to travel, brunch, and drink wine with my neighbors! I'm known to live on the wild side and order Venti iced double shots at 5pm.
