Let's be honest. Who doesn't love pot pies!? I have seen this recipe in so many places and tweaked a little each time so there is no way I could begin to credit the original BUT I decided to share anyway!
Mini Pot Pies are absolutely adorable and such a quick easy dinner. Four ingredients and 40 Minutes! That's all mine took and they could have been faster but I steamed my chicken instead of using precooked!
You will need:
Cream of Chicken!
( Campbell's is my favorite but any kind will work )
( I used frozen but canned will work too )
( What Kind is totally preference! Some even use Croissant dough, however biscuit is more convenient because of its round shape)
( I steamed some chicken tenderloins for mine but you can use canned chicken or a rotisserie style)
You want to make sure to prep your chicken, If you are using fresh chicken like I did I highly suggest steaming it. Its quick, simple and you can get other things done while its cooking. I steamed mine for about 15 minutes, which is all it takes to be just about perfect in my Aroma Rice Cooker + Food Steamer and then diced it up! For Rotisserie Chicken all you need to do is shred it off the bone!
Step 2! If you haven’t already, make sure to preheat your oven to 375 degrees and get all of your other supplies and ingredients ready! (can opener, muffin pan, spoon, etc)
Prep your veggies! Follow the directions on your package but make sure to under-cook them. They will also get some oven time so you don’t want them overdone. I defrosted mine for about 3 minutes.
Add your Chicken, Veggies, and Cream of Chicken to a bowl and mix it up.
Spray a layer of non stick spray (or use oil) on your muffin pan and get ready to make your ‘crust’
Now you can do this two ways.
Fill each dough spot with a couple of spoonful’s of your filling mix. (I used about a little less than half a cup each)
Step 8! Place pan in the oven at 375 degrees for 20 – 25 minutes or until golden brown to your liking. Make sure to watch them as they bake so they don’t burn.
Once done, simply run a spoon or knife around the edges and pop them out.
Voila! Eat and Enjoy!
Toppings Toppings and more Toppings!
When you first get to Pieology, you walk in and immediately see the amazing counter of toppings to choose from!
With so many options, they do give you a basic menu you can choose from with some mouth watering classics..or you can venture off on your own and create a one of a kind masterpiece to satisfy your taste buds.
I, however, had NO idea where to start so I decided to have the helpful employee choose for me. I could NOT have picked a better sauce pairing on my own. The touch of pesto mixed with the classic red sauce gave my taste buds such a shock I couldn't stop eating it.
and just in case you cant eat it all!
DON'T forget to stop in and have a pie of you own!!
NATIONAL TACO DAY & WAYS TO CELEBRATE!
1. Eat Tacos
2. Make Tacos
3. Dream of Tacos
4. Have Someone Else Make You Tacos
Did you know that even though tacos are so widely available, the history of the taco is really unknown. If you check out National Taco Day they say according to expert Jeffrey M Pilcher, the word originates from the silver mines in Mexico in the 18th century, when taco referred to the little explosives workers used to extract the ore.
LAST YEAR AMERICANS ATE OVER 4.5 BILLION TACOS!!
Here's how you can contribute to that number this year and Celebrate the best National Holiday Ever! (j.k but its up there)
1. Sing along to Taco Bell's National Taco Day Song.
2. Eat Tacos!
- al Fresco's ZTACO will be celebrating in downtown
- Taqueria Olgys will have .99cent tacos today
- Tijuana Flats has 2 tacos, chips & a drink for $5.49
- El Paso, Taco Bell, Cactus Cantina, Taco Rock & Case Ole
are all great places to celebrate as well!!
3. Make Tacos at home using this awesome recipe from Pillsbury!
WHATEVER YOU DO>> MAKE SURE YOU CELEBRATE!
Does anyone else hate grocery shopping? I am so busy lately that grocery shopping is such a task.
I also wish I could say I don't leave with WAY more than what I went for every single time I step in to Walmart.
Well folks, times are a changin'! Pensacola's Walmart on Creighton now offers GROCERY PICK UP!
This means I get to grocery shop in the comfort of my pajamas at midnight if that's what floats my boat and pick it all up curbside the next day?! Yes Please!
I decided to check it out this week and I am HOOKED!
First, you log on to www.walmart.com/Grocery you'll need to register for an account and find the nearest location to you that offers the service.
After you place your order you will schedule a pick up date and time. Once you arrive to Walmart you park in assigned parking and call the number on the sign in front of you to let them know you are there. It was so simple and so awesome to have my groceries brought out to my car, especially because it has been so crazy with the rain lately.
I even got the most adorable goody bag full of snacks to sample for being a first time Grocery Pick Up customer!
If that is awesome customer service I don't know what is! My Personal Shopper Wy Teri was an absolute doll and she even showed me all my produce to make sure it was chosen to my satisfactory.
I will definitely be using the service again.
If you've used it before let me know in the comments what you think.
If you haven't, check out #walmartgrocery and #groceryhero for pictures and comments from other customers.
