In the 1950's, the Morey brothers' entrepreneurship kicked off along the Wildwood's and has grown into the Morey's Piers that we know and love today. Morey's Piers is a Jersey Shore landmark, and this Memorial Day weekend they are debuting the newly refurbished Great Nor'Easter roller coaster as well as the Raging Waters Water Park.
The Great Nor'Easter roller coaster underwent a five-million dollar renovation this winter, and now offers a 95-foot drop, ocean-themed paint job and 2,170 feet of new and improved track for adrenaline-seeking guests. The Raging Waters Water Park has a 175,000-gallon interactive activity pool and two interactive kiddie play areas amongst other thrilling attractions.
Also new to Morey's Piers this summer is their VIP tours which will give guests behind the scenes access to the fun and games along the boardwalk such as in-house welders, water park chemistry and tours showcasing the operations of an amusement park. All tours will end with a Curley's Fries buffet bar at Joe's Fish Co. and guests will receive a copy of Morey's A Wild Ride book and Curly Fry bobble head.
Headed to the shore Memorial Day weekend? You'll be pleased to hear about the return of the fourth annual Wildwood MURPH Challenge (Monday, May 29 from 8:00AM to 1:00PM) featuring partner, CrossFit Parallax, which is held in memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy who lost his life in Afghanistan in 2005. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation.
