In February of 2013, Southern Sugar Bakery was born. It started as only a fun hobby for Angie Tucker and Christin Kubasko, who were both full time school counselors at the time. They began baking together as a way to make cute little, edible gifts for friends and family. But everyone loved Angie and Christin's delicious cookies so much that they would rave to their other friends about them and from there, their fan base grew!
They recently took a few moments out of their busy cookie making schedule to give us the inside scoop about Southern Sugar Bakery and what they're all about! Keep reading to find out what they're "baking" up!
Did you know Swarovski has a jewelry line that is sold from a home based business called Touchstone Crystal? I didn't either - until I met Paige Cocke. She's a local GLAMbassador for the company and she's loving it! Her passion for the sparkle and making people happy have been combined so she couldn't ask for a more rewarding job!
Paige started her own business because her "day job", while she loves it too, just wasn't enough for her. The daily grind was just getting her down. She got to a certain point in her career as a financial executive and realized that she wasn't going to be "queen of the world" and decided to do something for herself.
Starting this business was easy - Paige was able to set her own hours and work whenever she wanted. She set goals and made a plan to achieve them. She still has her day job, so for Paige, Touchstone Crystal is something she just loves to do. The company provides representatives, like Paige, with all the resources, marketing, training, information, and support they need to make money, have fun, and build a business. It's a fantastic way to have your own business, or try your own business with very little risk and huge rewards. It only took a small startup fee for Paige to begin selling Touchstone Crystal and she made well more than enough in her first GLAM party to cover the startup fee and be able to buy herself a little sparkle too!
Paige loves making people smile and having fun - all while selling high quality jewelry. Since it's made by Swarovski, you can expect only genuine, first-grade crystals and pearls!
Nicole Galiger, owner of Organista Professional Organizing, partnered with Real Housewives of Raleigh Durham for a little back-to-school organizing help. I enlisted her for these tips after attempting to do a little organizing myself. I don't have any kids in school yet but we're going to be doing some at home preschool lessons this year before our little one goes off to school next fall. So I knew I'd need to get a system in place to keep us in line. And I figured with most of you all sending kids back to school this week and last, you could probably use the tips too. I mean we could all use a little help in the organization department, right?
Nicole often has clients that need help with offices and closets. As an organizer, she strives to make sure the system she designs and implements suits her client's needs and is easy to maintain. All too often, Nicole assists those that have fallen out of the habit of organization because a routine has not been set into place. That's where a command center comes into play. Many examples of command centers can be found on Pinterest if inspiration is needed. For those of you that have never heard the term, a command center is simply an organized drop zone. Some include a desk for doing homework or bills, they can be located in a foyer, mudroom, kitchen, or even a home office. Wherever you'd like to assemble your command center, Nicole has a few tips to go along with it for your back-to-school organization needs.
