On Thursday, September 22, we'll be having our September Girls Night Out at Aloft in downtown Raleigh. You'll be able to spot the hotel by the huge, awesome silver metal sculpture suspended from the side of the building.
The hotel has a great modern, lounge-y atmosphere. The hotel also has a great bar called the WXYZ bar that is a great setting for anything from a night out with friends, a date night with your sweety, or even a business meeting as they have plenty of private little nooks.
The WXYZ bar is on the 2nd floor of the hotel with a great outdoor patio overlooking the hustle and bustle of NCSU campus and Hillsborough Street. If you're a Pack fan, you'll love the view of the bell tower from those great orange chairs.
There's also plenty of cozy seating inside for when the weather is not cooperating for a night on the patio. Some of the more modern lounges and bars have a not-so-inviting feeling but WXYZ bar is completely different. With all the vibrant colors, comfy couches, and pillows, you're sure to find a spot that's just right.
Step up to the bar and you'll find a great selection of whiskeys - the WXYZ bar's main attraction. They also have a well rounded variety of beers for beer lovers - mostly local brews. And of course a great selection of wines if you're craving something a little lighter.
The signature drink at WXYZ bar, which will be available at the September GNO, is the Pack Mule. They're play on a Moscow Mule includes a splash of Grenadine to make that perfect Pack Red. I will definitely be trying one out on event night!
Please join us on Thursday, September 22, as we host our September Girls Night Out at Aloft downtown Raleigh. The event is free and will be from 6pm to 9pm. Hope to see you there!

THE WAHLBURGERS STORY
Founded by Executive Chef Paul Wahlberg and celebrity brothers Mark and Donnie and other investors, Wahlburgers debuted in October 2011 in Hingham, Massachusetts. The subject of an A&E reality show, Wahlburgers offers a fun, casual music-filled atmosphere where guests, like family, share great food, a few laughs and lots of love. While its walls celebrate the story through photos and words of the Wahlberg brothers' life journeys from Dorchester, Mass. neighborhood kids to rising chef and international superstars, it’s the food at Wahlburgers that takes center stage.
Crafted by Chef Paul and served with heartfelt hospitality, the chef inspired menu features a variety of fresh burgers, housemade condiments, crispy haddock, seared chicken and vegetarian options. Other signature items include Mom’s Sloppy Joe, thin crispy onion rings, tater tots and thick creamy frappes and floats. Gluten free options are available.
Wahlburgers’ full-service bar is a popular gathering spot offering an impressive selection of adult frappes, cocktails, wines and beers including the signature Wahlbrewski – a Harpoon Brewery custom, unfiltered Pale Ale. Dedicated to giving back, Wahlburgers is active in every community it serves. Open daily for lunch and dinner, Wahlburgers offers full-service dining, counter service, take out and a full-service bar. For locations and more information visit wahlburgersrestaurant.com.

The event will start Friday, Sept. 23 at 6:45 p.m. with the traditional Bürgermeister tapping of the first keg, called “O’Zapst is,” which is also what the crowd yells out. The organizers are sparing little expense to make the entire experience as authentically Bavarian as possible.
This year’s Triangle Oktoberfest will feature the following activities:
Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Triangle Oktoberfest Rotary Foundation, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
“The whole idea behind our Oktoberfest is to share ‘Gemütlichkeit,’ or warmth, friendliness and good cheer,” said Triangle Oktoberfest Bürgermeister Randy Bossé. “Our region is rich in German culture as well as home to over 75 German-based companies. Great effort has been made to create an authentic Bavarian experience.”
