I don't know about you, but one of my favorite things to do on the weekends is to visit the local antique and vintage shops. There's just something about searching through a jam packed store of old knick-knacks, home decor, and furniture that really makes shopping for brand new things not so special. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy shopping at Kirkland's, Home Goods, and the like but when I can buy something vintage that could possibly be a one-of-a-kind item, it just makes the hunt that much more exciting!
After lots of research by The Handmaidens, who are also producers of other local events including The Handmade Market, they are venturing into the new obsession of pop-up markets with the Urban Vintage event. The market planners accepted applications from interested collectors and curators from all across the country for the past few months. The applicants were juried and selected based on their collection, price point, and reputation in the vintage event circuit. The vendors selected promise to deliver top notch, drool worthy industrial and vintage items with an urban flair. The market will be indoors at the Market Hall inside City Market in Downtown Raleigh. The two-day event will be on Friday August 7, 6pm - 9pm, and Saturday August 8, 10am - 5pm.
There will be several local shops and vendors along with many from across the country. For a full list, visit the Urban Vintage website here. There will also be a wine and beer cash bar by City Market and Brachi will also have sandwiches and rolls for sale.
Local sponsors that helped make the market possible include: Deco Raleigh, Lulu's Vintage & Consignment Shop, SuzAnna's Antiques, and City Market.
