SkillPop is a company working to make in-person learning accessible through community based pop-up classes that will be held in different parts of the city. Teachers are hand-picked and talented local professionals with skills to share. With a love for community, supporting local, and connecting people. SkillPop creates a fun and powerful environment for learning for all ages.
As of July 2016, SkillPop is hosting an average of 25 classes each month and has facilitated learning for over 2,000 students. The company has been featured in local publications such as SouthPark Magazine, Charlotte Magazine, the Charlotte Agenda, on Good Day Charlotte, and was a finalist for the 2016 Knight Foundation Knight Cities Challenge.
Upon seeing the impact locally, it was a natural next step to grow the SkillPop network outside of Charlotte; facing fast and stable success, the company decided its first phase of growth would be to move next door to Raleigh where classes will commence on August 18!
I graduated from NC State, so it's been on my mind to bring SkillPop to Raleigh. As an educational hub with a vibrant culture, Raleigh is the perfect city for SkillPop's next move and we're thrilled to contribute to that community."
