While it may not feel like it right now, Summer is right around the corner! We all love Summer, but after the novelty wears off we often hear every mom's most dreaded phrase: " Mom, I'm bored!". I've shared with you my favorite camps to keep you and your kiddos happy this summer!

Spring Break Camps: April 1 – 5 -- 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Ages 8 – 12)
April 1 – Archaeology at Henricus
April 2 – Science in the 17th Century
April 3 – Follow That Fish: the James River Environment
April 4 – Sir Thomas Dale’s Colony
April 5 – Indian Summer
Camp Pocahontas: June 24 – 28 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Ages 6-10)
One-hour After Care available each day.
Join in Powhatan cooking, farming, archery, music and dancing, engineering, canoe scraping, fish net weaving, pottery of Indian life in the 1600’s and meet the English colonists.
James River Camp: August 6 – 8 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Ages 9-12)
Paddle a kayak on the James River and identify how the plants and animals of the river were hunted, gathered, and used throughout history. Field trip to a water sanitation plant – how to keep the James clean!
Discovery Day Family Camps 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.(Ages 3–12 + adult)
Three-hour Family Camps (adults and children). Lots of indoor and outdoor age-appropriate, hands-on activities, make-&-takes and FUN!

Core Kids Academy
Looking for a fun way to beat the heat this summer? With the option to choose between our themed camp, gymnastics camp, and ninja camp, there is something for everyone to enjoy at CORE this summer!
CORE Kids Academy is an unique gymnastics-based fitness program for children. Our mission is to instill and develop confidence, fitness, and life skills through gymnastics or ninja training. Our goal is to provide a fun, friendly environment where our students can build strength, improve coordination, and let their self-confidence flourish. Our summer camps are for pre-school and school-age campers and are suitable for any skill level, for beginners to advanced!
Our Themed Camp is for campers 2 years and older and incorporates gymnastics, games and fitness for a fun-filled three hours! Each week, we offer an unique, exciting theme, such as princesses, animals and superheroes, with certain weeks including a visit from a theme-appropriate special guests. With our Gymnastics Camp, it doesn't matter whether your child has been a CORE gymnast for years or is just starting out in the sport, they'll receive the immersive gymnastics experience they've been looking for! Using our specialized equipment and thoughtfully crafted skill progressions, CORE campers will work on a variety of skills, including cartwheels, aerials, pullovers, flyaways, back walkovers, and back tucks. So no matter what skill your child wants to learn, this camp is for gymnasts of all levels, ages 5 and older!
If your child wants to try something different, why not train like a Ninja this summer? Our Ninja Camp consists of six hours of action-packed, high-intensity Ninja training, that combines obstacle training, martial arts, gymnastics and freestyle movement. Ninja campers will utilize our specialized Ninja equipment to learn a variety of skills, including Ninja rolls, flips, vaults, window escapes, palm spins and ricochets!
Our summer camps are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9 am-12 pm or 1-4 pm. Our Themed and Gymnastics Camp begins the week of May 28th and our Ninja Camp will begin the week of June 18th.

Miracles in Motion
Miracles in Motion is a non-profit organization that offers quality dance instruction to those with special needs. Here all people can participate no matter their ability!
They are offering two summer camp options for ages 5+ so your little ones can keep grooving over the summer:
Week 1: July 8-10 1:00-4:00 pm
Week 2: July 15-17 1:00-4:00 pm
Both camps will be full of dance, music, crafts and more! Families can sign up for one or both weeks.

YMCA of Greater Richmond
The YMCA has a camp for everyone from your toddlers to teenagers. Their types of camps are endless: drama, sports, wizarding (seriously), art, etc. The YMCA summer camps are also very parent friendly due to camp selections throughout the summer and there being multiple locations throughout Richmond and surrounding areas.
