Jay and I had a date night this past Friday at the Veil. We had been there once before, but it was later in the evening so we didn’t stay long enough to experience how much fun it can be! It was a beautiful Friday evening and the place filled with lively chatter, smiles and good beer. The Veil has some of the best tasting beer in my opinion and(this may sound strange) but I love the color of the beer! Its so pretty :)
They have a large space both inside and out. The inside is very modern and I really love what they have done with it. The bar where you purchase you beer is absolutely beautiful! It reminds me of an upscale brewery…especially since the beers are filled in lovely wine glasses! The inside also has a private event space that you can use should you want to host an event(which we are doing this month!) Even the bathrooms are stunning! The outside is a large, open space with picnic tables and they always have a food truck available.
The atmosphere at the Veil is relaxed and almost always busy. I definitely feel that they strive to make more of an upscale atmosphere for a brewery and there are servers who are constantly making rounds to pick up empty wine glasses. It definitely is a great spot for a date night, and with it being in Scott’s Addition and so close to some great restaurants, I can see why they stay so busy.
We did a Q&A with the Veil to learn more about what they have to offer, you can read all about it below!
Q: How long have you been open?
A: Opened April 16, 2016. Just celebrated our One Year Anniversary.
Q: What sets you apart from other breweries?
A: We strive for excellence in all that we do - from the high quality ingredients we use in our beers to the aesthetics and customer service in our tasting room. Our head brewer has been able to study under the best breweries in the world, including Hill Farmstead and Cantillon brewery in Belgium. If his product is not up to excellent standards, it will not be served.
Q: How many beers do you have on tap?
A: We can range from 2-8+ weekly..depending on if we’ve been wiped out or not from busy days.
Q: How often do you bring in new beers?
A: We can new beers every Tuesday. These beers are also available on draft. Both the draft and cans are available until they sell out.
Q: What are your goals when it comes to customer service? What do you strive to do to make it a pleasant experience for guests?
A: We strive for our tasting room staff to serve with kindness, efficiency and valuable knowledge about our beers. We desire for our guests to enjoy our beers and atmosphere.
Q: Upcoming events?
A: All events are listed on our Facebook page. We focus on beer releases, holidays and special festivals.
Q: Do you have live music?
A: We currently focus more on having DJ’s for special events and festivals.
Q: Do you host private events? How many people will it hold?
A: We have a private space attached to the main tasting room that can hold up to 50 people. Catering is welcomed and the space is great for events, networking and parties.
We had such a great time enjoying some refreshing beer and good conversation and are SO excited to be hosting our event this month at the Veil! Be sure to get your eventbrite tickets here!
