You can’t go into any public place these days without hearing or speaking about the weather. It’s hot. I have only lived here three summers and this one takes the cake. I really fear my steering wheel is going to malfunction because of the melting factor inside the car. All that aside our July Girls Night Out was cool, relaxed and a ton of fun. All the guests were spoiled by the dessert spotlight business Cakes with a Kiss and multiple business giveaways. So between mini-cupcakes and the drinks from an all day happy hour at Bar Louie it was a grand night as usual. And it was all in doors as well. Starting a new trend this month is the Housewives Approved Business Spotlight. All the guests voted for their favortie business and this business wins an exclusive blog post along with a small token of my appreciation. Wine-O-Helen was the winner so you catch her story on how she got started in the wine biz on the blog in August. If you missed the girls night out at Bar Louie in Stone Oak or if you would like to know what business were spotlighted here is our Local Ladies Roundup for July.

Online boutiques are all the rage these days. You can find them on Facebook and Instagram. Women are loving the ease of shopping for looks that they see others wearing through multiple social media platforms and blogs. Plus, from a business standpoint, this has allowed entrepreneurs to get started in the fashion retail industry with little overhead and minimal startup costs. Alll you need is a “Shopify” (or marketplace) website, some inventory and a drive for social media and your boutique can be off and running. (I know some wholesale companies will even do the shipping for you. No inventory needed.) And that is just how I came across our Fashion Friday boutique, on Instagram. I often peruse the fashion hashtags on Instagram ( #satxfashion, #sanantoniofashion #fashionblogger, etc) and this spring I came across My SAS Couture. With a clean logo and sweet dresses, this boutique spoke to my own personal style and what I thought you readers would love as well. So I reached out to meet the owner, Sirena. Sirena is running her online boutique, of womens and girls clothing, out of her home office here in San Antonio. Her dream of owning a brick and mortar store is slowly becoming a reality as she builds a name for herself locally. My SAS Couture has been featured in two local fashion shows, EveryBody Beautiful and An Evening on South Beach Fashion Show, along with gaining exposure through her instagram account, @mysascouture. San Antonio has some programs that help popup boutiques acquire a brick and mortar store after gaining a certain level of following and interest. Sirena is hopeful that this program, along with a possible kickstarter campaign, will help her get the storefront she has always dreamed of. I loved visiting this little in home store with her cute summer dresses and off the shoulder tops. She has everything from leggings to jumpers, plus little girls clothing and dresses. She is even adding some plus sizes looks due to the demand and growing interest of that body type. Sirena has done a great job of keeping everything organized and new items coming in regularly. My SAS Couture plans on having some pop up shops right in her own home and neighborhood this fall season. She will be featuring a Sip and Shop for her followers to try stuff on and enjoy an afternoon. Until then you can find all her stock on her website at www.mysascouture.com or follow her on Instagram @mysascouture.
If you love any of these looks click on the picture and you will be taken to the My Sas Couture shopping page. Let's show this local entrepreneur some love! This is a sponsored post. All opnions and pictures belong to San Antonio Housewives - Housewives in the City One of my favorite place to hang out, eat, shop, catch a movie, etc. here in San Antonio is the Alamo Quarry Market (aka The Quarry). So it only makes logical sense that we should have a Girls Night Out there. If you missed it, last week we were at Canyon Cafe on the North side of the shopping complex. Canyon Cafe is popular for their "out of the box" specialty dinners such as Bison Meatloaf and Corn Crusted Calamari. I vier more towards seafood, so I enjoyed the Calamari. The ladies got to enjoy margaritas all evening along while doing a little shopping, networking and supporting the Center for Health Care Services. You can learn more about them here and PLEASE continue to donate to their cause that helps families here in San Antonio. Here is our June’s Local Ladies Roundup. It's a place where you can find the vendors that were with us at the girls night out in case you couldn’t make it or if you need a quick reminder of where to find them. And many thanks to our lovely photographers.
