Every year St. Patrick's Day comes around and with it comes nasty green drinks made with dye, corn syrup and other ingredients that don't love on your body.
Try this simple recipe that both you and your kids will love, without any guilt.
Put it in a fancy glass if you need to.
2 cups of milk (whatever kind is your fave)
1 cup of ice
1-2 scoops of Spirulina powder
1/2 -1 dropper of liquid stevia (or whatever sweetener you fancy)
1/3 cup chocolate chips (I prefer sugar free chips sweetened with stevia)
1-2 drops of doTerra peppermint oil
1 scoop of collagen or vanilla protein powder to enhance protein content (I prefer Vital Farms collagen or doTerra's Vanilla Trim Shake powder)
1 cup of spinach for added fiber and veggie power
1 tsp MCT oil to boost fat burning power
These are approximate "measurements: cause I'm more of a throw it all in there and see what happens kind of chef unless I'm baking, so add more or less of any ingredient you love or tolerate.
Blend all the ingredients together at once and serve!
Top with real whip cream and sprinkle a little spirulina powder for fun!

The relaunch of the San Antonio Housewives in the City Ladies Night Out event was a smash hit!
We are only two weeks away from our next event "Spring Fling" Sip and Shop at Kona Grill of La Cantera.
Women were eager for the event to start, creating a line to get in and lasted an hour and half into the event. The first 50 women received Swag Bags sponsored by Athleta full of amazing goodies, including the cutest little earrings made by artist Maggie of Margrít Co. She donates 15% of her sales to Down With Business, a fund that benefits individuals with down syndrome. You can find her amazing handmade jewelry here!
Everyone who attended was able to enter in a chance to win a gorgeous black and gold doTerra backpack filled with Rosé, spa gifts and a $150 Recovery Day package to CryoFit of Leon Springs!
The featured businesses were busy connecting and sharing with the guests from the very start of the event! San Antonio is home to so many talented entrepreneurs and we were so fortunate to have some of them there representing the businesses they have built.
Every good business owner knows that networking and getting to know people in your city is crucial to a successful thriving business. These #bossbabes had a fabulous time growing their business and finding ways to serve their community even more. As a business owner myself, it was thrilling to watch their excitement as they met new people and listen their success stories after the event.

Throughout the evening, several guests approached me and raved about the time they were having. Guests loved the featured Galentine's Day cocktail specially created by Whiskey Cake for the event. They went home with cute jewelry and clothes from The Nod Boutique's Pop Up Shop, learned about the best alternative to a bra at the Ruby Ribbon table and and geared up for Valentine's Day at the Pure Romance station.
Many ladies took advantage of a fantastic deal given by Audria to get their first chiropractic adjustment for only $25! Cindy Lemmon helped educate women about the important of being financially savvy and future focused. Miriam Salas helped teach people about supplements and wellness.
Ashley and Samantha had a blast meeting new potential home buyers and helping people enter in their giveaway for the coolest basket of goodies I have ever seen! Ladies had the chance to inhale the aroma of the best essential oils and learn about natural ways to achieve wellness with Katie Daley of doTerra essential oils.
Guests stopped by to meet our special charity guest, Isabel of Gabriella's Smile Foundation. Isabel helps create awareness about the horrible disease that tragically ended her daughter's life too short. She has done a beautiful job of turning a loss into a way for the community to come together during their annual Cupcake 5k. You can learn more about ways to get involved at their website Strongerthandipg.org.
One of the highlights of the evening was playing with the crazy fun selfie booth sponsored by The Party People PhotoBooth. The ladies had a blast taking selfies, making gifs and more with the high quality LED ring lit camera and backdrop. My husband and I even got in on the action! If you're hosting an event like a wedding, you will be so happy you made this investment!
San Antonio Housewives is so grateful for the talented services of Esther at Pendo Photography and the many moments she captured of the evening. Please consider her talent the next time you're in the market for a photographer.
Lastly, we are so thankful to Whiskey Cake for hosting our event and taking good care of our ladies. And No, it's not a click funnel
I truly believe one of the most challenging skills when you run your own business (or two) is to have the discipline to step back and carve out time to work ON your business (not just in it).
I'm talking about GOAL SETTING. It's not a trendy hastag. It's ESSENTIAL to achieving financial success.
This requires you to intentionally ignore the never ending to dos, notifications, demands and that nagging voice that whispers to cross one more thing off your list.
Yet, less than 10% (give or take depending on what research you source from) of business owners actually write their goals down. And of those 10%, maybe 3% write down CLEAR and VIVID goals. Here's the kicker, in a Harvard Business study they found that of the 3% of graduates from their MBA who had their goals written down, ended up earning TEN TIMES as much as the other 97% put together, just ten years after graduation. Why the heck would you skip this crucial business step?
Every January, I lead a webinar where I coach others through a reflection of the previous year. We take inventory of win/challenges and the lessons learned. Then we look ahead and become very clear on what we desire more of, set goals and determine the habits and actions needed to accomplish them. Admittedly, it's easy to lead a call, but I still have to set aside my own time to practice what I preach. So I use an amazing guide to support this process called The Beautiful Life Blueprint by Ange Peters of Hol:Fit. You can download this yourself here!
Tips for making the most out of this sacred practice:
So dear business owners, entrepreneurs and side hustlers, WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS.
Make them visible where you can see them everyday. Share them with a like minded soul who will support you, be ecstatic when you crush them and hold you accountable when you feel like giving up.
May your 2019 be a year full of intentional living, more joy and MORE MONEY!

Entrepreneurs must register to pitch
Killer Success Strategies to help get you to the next level:
Get a thick skin, fast.If only entrepreneurship were the incredible wonderland of constant bank deposits, enthusiastic applause and warm ‘atta-girls’ you always imagined it would be. Once you actually enter the turbulent waters of the small business arena, you will quickly realize that a thick skin is required. It's a feature that has certainly served sharks well.
Just keep swimming.
In business, you’re either growing or slowing. Shark Week makes it clear that, while not all sharks have to keep swimming to keep breathing, some do— much like entrepreneurs.
Do your most important work in the morning.
Sharks do their most important work — hunting — in the early morning and early evening, both timeframes being ideal for their ultimate success. I’m part of a growing crowd of entrepreneurs who are boldly proclaiming the magic of those early morning hours. It’s when we can do our most important work — without interruption and distraction. Those magical hours are when we can move our own agenda forward, take new ground and lay the groundwork for the success we desire — before the rest of the world wakes up.
Get to know your targets. If Shark Week teaches us nothing else, it’s that sharks have finely honed predatory skills. Each different species of shark has its own hunting techniques and habits, suited perfectly for its prey of choice. Because they know their prey as well as they know their surroundings, they’re the undisputed rulers of the sea. While I don’t ever recommend looking at your market as “prey,” one of the best things a small business owner will ever do is get to know her target market more intimately than anyone else.
So I learned something new this year already! Words are life changing...literally! So let me explain.
About a week ago exactly I invited my coworker to lunch for her birthday. We are also good friends so of course had to talk about her dating life. She said it was horrible and took herself off the dating site she was on because it wasn't helping. I asked if I could see it since it still saved and she said she would like me to critique it for her (she know how honest I am hehee).
I take a look and read thoroughly and told her "I know why you're single still!" She said what is it!? I basically with her permission revised her profile in an honest way of course and made it public and voila!!! She was flooded with emails and now had choices!! It was so cute to see her face light up days later. Weekend goes by and I see her this Monday and she says, "OMG I have to tell you about my weekend!". I could hardly wait till lunch to here this!
After much hated anticipation I caught her in the hallway and said, "I want to know did you meet someone!?" She said, "YES and we both got off the dating site!!" What?!??! "Wait", I say, "is this from the dating site I happened to change, just curious?" haha she laughs and says, "yes, thank you we already met in person and he is more head over heels for me that I'm so giddy and I love the feeling!" I smiled and hugged her of course but in the back of my mind I'm thinking is this guy really dating me?! haha and then I shrug and say no way she is beautiful inside AND out she just didn't know how to talk about herself! I can't wait to see where and how far this goes! Stay tuned! #Goals #singlelife #HITC #LadiesNightOut #LNO #cupid #relationships #dating #work

P.S. I am an awesome cupid btw!
2018 is here!!
Sorry ladies I will get better at blogging this year I promise. That is one of my resolutions actually. This is my first one since taking over Housewives In The City-San Antonio so bare with me and be nice haha. Comments are always welcome btw...
Today I pat myself on the back! Day 3 of this new year in 2018 and I have already had my 8 glasses of water each day as I promised myself. Is it ok to be proud of such a simple thing like that!? Haha I really am proud that something that was so hard for me to do is getting done with hard determination and will.
My point is ladies, is that when you hear people say "I can't do this" and "I can't do that", it's simply an excuse! It's hard work sometimes (most cases) but that drive is what you need like gas for a car.
I went to my dermatologist today and had a skin analysis done which is very awkward when the doc is looking at your naked body scanning your skin when you haven't shaved in days because it's so darn cold out haha. Yikes....AWKWARD!
That's another resolution off my list is to fix my skins complexion so was prescribed all kinds of ointments and creams for this. Water is the natural medicine that will help my Doc said. Ugh.....
One day at a time....
Happy New Year!
Getting to know the August San Antonio Housewives Approved business winner has been a treat. Jen has been in the SeneGence business March of this year and is really loving the products. Plus it offers her another platform to work from home. Here is what she had to say when I interviewed her following the winning of the best business spotlight at August Girls Night Out at Grayze on Grayson.
Tell us about your business and how you became the successful business woman you are today.
My journey began with a simple invite to a FaceBook party for LipSense. I purchased 1 color, just to be nice and support my friend who was the host. However, once I tried it on, I was hooked to say the least. I realized this could be a road to additional income while having fun! I have a special needs son with many disabilities and this avenue could provide the resources needed to ensure there is always availability for him.
Three words that best describe you?
Compassionate, funny, multi-tasker
What do you consider your greatest professional achievement?
Becoming part of the leadership team for a non-profit group called ProtectTxFragileKids which advocates for the TX fragile kid community. In addition, becoming a sales person (however, selling these products has been extremely easy as they sell themselves!)
What are your professional goals for the next six months?Three words that best describe you?
1. Grow my business by providing opportunity to others 2. Expanding my book of business. 3. Developing knowledge of SeneGence product line not solely limited to LipSense.
How do you maintain a work/life balance?
With my full time job, I work from home permanently. This allows me to multi-task between work and taking care of my son.
What are your top three favorite people/places/things to do in your spare time?
Going out to dinner/happy hour either at my normal hangouts or trying new places. Hanging out on the back porch on a nice afternoon/evening with friends. Shopping!
What is your goal for retirement?
To me, a successful retirement means the ability to retire from my full-time employment with a comfortable plan as to not stress about where money is coming from in order to ensure my family is fully supported.
Do you have any advice for women who'd like to start their own company?
SeneGence has grown and is continuing to grow at an alarming rate. You will see our billboard in Times Square all the way through NYE! We have also become the office lipstick of Broadway! This is a great company to get involved with and you will find you use their products more than you realize. Let me help you get started on this fantastic journey!
In this season of my life sleep has not come easy. I am often plagued with sleep deprivation because I just can’t turn my mind off. Due to a handful of added life stresses, my mind not turning off and having the bad practice of “working” in bed, my lack of sleep was starting to catch up with me.
Many top medical sites state that stress is the number one cause of sleep deprivation. And sometimes you just can’t help the stresses in life. Often times circumstances are out of my control and I just have to deal with them as they come to me. But that is just it. I have to deal with the stress and how I deal with the stress will dictate a reaction of other things like appetite and sleep.
If I handle stress correctly and keep with a routine that I know is better for my body, mind, and spirit then I will sleep better and not cause the painful cycle of sleep deprivation to continue.
And that’s when the Snoozecube bed comes in.
I had been sleeping on a mattress that had springs and over time those springs had worn out in the places I laid the most. This caused my body to have more stress on it in places that were already injured and in need of recovery.
My shoulder for instance. I have woken up timeless times after a very physical day at work with my shoulder in agonizing pain. And I assumed this pain was due to the fact that I slept on it wrong or in one position too long.
But after doing some research and partnering up with the Snoozecube bed I found out that my bed was the culprit. It was actually hurting my body more when I slept, not helping it rest and recover.
So here I am sore muscles, sleep deprivation trying to run a family with five children and multiple jobs on 5 or fewer hours of restless, painful sleep.
This was not a good combination.
But after sleeping on the Snoozecube bed for the past 30 nights I have seen a drastic difference in how my body feels and how my mind functions.
I have worked just as much physically and not woken up once with my aching shoulder. Plus I have made it a new rule for me to not work in bed. Cuz if I do my brain doesn’t shut off correctly. So even though my desk is 8 steps away it has helped me to settle into sleep easier. This along with the non-spring memory foam mattress has helped me get to sleep quicker and stay asleep longer.
Here are the 3 things that stood out to me about the mattress that I wasn’t getting from my old spring mattress.
*Bonus!! The cover is washable. Like I said, I have five kids. Sometimes that makes things messy and washing my mattress cover is going to be handy. I already had to wash it once and the zipper that goes around the brand covered mattress made it easier for execution. I was able to take off and put it back on my king size bed all by myself. The covers are replaceable as well. Just call customer service.
Partnering up with this company has been dream come true. No pun intended. This newly launched mattress company has given me a great night sleep and helped my body recover from many Mom-aches and pains.
Advice from a work-from-home mom of five...If you're in the market for a new mattress, get your snoozecube on!
This post is in partnership with Snoozecube Bed but the opinions are all my own.
HI! I'm Cassidy!
