Seattle is truly one of the most unique places I have ever lived. I never knew what May Day was until I moved here. I think May day is a wonderful thing and I wish more places had May Day. I did not march to but I think it was amazing for those who are fighting for equal rights.
According to Seattle Times there was thousands of people marching for immigrants to have equal labor laws. The focus on todays march was shielding immigrants from deportation. while this years May Day was generally smaller than the past the significance is still there. Many people who are marching are not native to the united States and are confident that they are making a difference.
I'm Debby! I'm excited to be living in such a fun city! I enjoy the diversity we have in Seattle and love connecting with people from all cultural backgrounds!
