Welcome to 2019!!! New Year!! New Start!!! New You? Maybe? It depends?
Going into a new year can be very exciting, but it can become very scary before it even starts. Why is that? Could it be that we go into the new year with extremely high expectations, then we think about what we should have done or could have accomplished the previous year that we did not so we use the NEW YEAR to make up for it? Or could it be that we set typical resolutions (weight loss, save money, travel, etc.) because they are safe and if we don't accomplish them, then we can blame "the forces" of everyday life? Instead of setting resolutions in 2019 let's set EFFORTS to do something. Let's keep it to a minimum for now and build on them or re-visit if necessary. This could be a reason why resolutions fall through, because we set too many and it can be overwhelming. This is something I am trying in 2019. Instead of resolving to blah blah blah, I am going to make efforts to:
1. Pick up a book instead of the remote control
2. Walk around my neighborhood
3. Make time to cook instead of going to drive-thru for convenience (or when Chiptole is near lol).
It is with these efforts that I may lose weight (because I walking more and now paying attention to what I eat) and expand my knowledge, imagination and productivity (because I am not glued to the television or YouTube). Now while these goals are simple, they are a start and can lead to something great. It could also push me to make more EFFORTS that can lead to the accomplishment of some goals I have for 2019. I am thinking with efforts (instead of resolutions), there is no panic to make sure it happens or putting it off because there is 12 months to accomplish them. With EFFORTS- you either do, or you don't!!
What are some efforts you will try to make in 2019?
Hey, girl, hey!
