If you're like me then Halloween is one of the best times of the year! You have Hocus Pocus, Pumpkin spiced candles and lattes, chocolate candy bars and all kinds of fun Halloween/haunted themed attractions waiting to give you a good scare and a night of fun. Being from the east coast there were always so many different haunted hayrides, corn mazes and other Halloween amazing-ness to do during the month of October and since moving to Austin, TX a couple of years ago it has been my mission to find similar super fun attractions and events to attend. It may not feel like Fall outside with the temperature still in the mid 80's during the day but these local attractions should still get you in the Halloween spirit!
House of Torment: I will be going here tomorrow night to check it out, it's rated one of the best haunted attractions in the country and it's right in downtown. They offer three different haunted houses named Dawn of Evil, The Frenzy and lastly Graveside Manor. I'll comment below to let ya'll know how it is, needless to say I'm very excited!!
Austin Ghost Tours: go on tours all around the city of Austin and check out it's most haunted buildings. These tours are also available all year round so if you're into haunted stuff you should definitely check it out! This would be such a fun date night and then out for dinner and drinks at a local Austin hotspot, maybe Trace at the W hotel which offers their amazing dinner series where you can get 2 courses for $25, 3 courses for $35 or 4 courses for $45...ummm Amazing much?!! Check out their menu here and you're welcome ;)
Sweet Berry Farms: This place is a little bit outside of the Austin city limits but is definitely worth a day for you and the family to get in your fill of Fall fun! They have a 4 acre maze in the shape of Texas and their prices are extremely reasonable, the kids will LOVE this place! They have hayrides, face painting, horseback rides and so much more.
Wildseed Farms: This place is quite a ways outside of Austin but we got the chance to go on our way home from our anniversary trip to Fredericksburg, Tx a couple of weeks ago. They have over 200 acres of wildflower farms and they sell the seeds too. We of course bought a Gigantic bag of Tx wildflower seeds and will be planting them all over our two acres in the spring. They also have a wide range and variety of pumpkins and gourds for decorating your home and carving! This place is great to go and grab a bite to eat at their charming cafe and then do a little shopping. Check out our trip to Wildseed Farms and all of the awesome pumpkins I got there, our front porch is looking very Fall-ish and I love it! It puts me in such a good and snuggly mood when I drive home and see it!
