Hey everyone! I am so excited for this last edition of our monthly "Locals we Love" post because we had some pretty amazing vendors at our December event. I can't believe this will be my last post of 2017, this year has flown by and I am so grateful for how much our ATX Housewives in the City community has grown! I couldn't of done these events without all of your support and encouragement, I hope you've all had as much fun and have made as many wonderful connections as I have this past year! On Dec. 6th we had our final event of 2017 and it was one of our smaller events (I blame the freezing rain that just had to happen on that night) but it was still such a lovely night filled with spectacular local business owners sharing their brands and of course our awesome guests, both new and familiar faces, thank you all for coming out! Below are the vendors that attended that event, please reach out to them personally if they can help you with anything, answer any questions, sell you some products, etc. They all will be grateful for your business and happy to work with you in any way!

Earlier this month we had a big holiday and one year anniversary networking event which was so festive and fun! We thank all of you who came out and missed those of you who couldn't! We were so lucky enough to be able to partner up with the local charity PACT which stands for Partners Against Child Trafficking. Celina was the lovely lady who came to represent the organization and she was so great about educating me and the guests about what PACT does and how it helps in our community! Below is some information and ways that you can connect with them to volunteer, donate or anything else you may be interested in!
PACT's Mission:Uniting communities to bring an end to child trafficking by raising awareness, preventing victimization, and reducing demand.
PACT's Vision:Imagine a world without child exploitation.
Student Programs: The PACT Student Ambassador program is a project-based advocacy program designed to empower a generation of student leaders to get informed and take action to bring child trafficking to an end. Sign up here to become a PACT Student Ambassador! In addition to the Ambassador program, we will be releasing secular and scripture-based curriculum for youth in January 2018. The curriculum is designed to equip youth with the skills to resist, detect, and prevent child trafficking, while becoming advocates for human dignity in their community.
Hi lovely people!! I hope you all are relaxing and done with shopping and wrapping by this time, I can't believe Christmas Eve is tomorrow! Where did the time go?? We've gotten some wonderful cold and even snowy weather these past couple of weeks and I for one am so grateful, I absolutely love it! I've been cuddled up in sweaters with the pups sitting by the fire and sipping hot tea, does it get any better?! I just wanted to post a very delicious and extremely simple recipe of my absolute favorite Christmas treat, peanut clusters! I made these a few days ago and have almost single handedly finished them off. Oops! I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and let me know if you make these clusters and how you like them!
Peanut Clusters Recipe
~1 bag of dark chocolate chips
~1 bag of butterscotch chips
~2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
~1 jar of lightly salted roasted peanuts
~You'll need wax paper and a large baking sheet
First you want to combine both bags of chips and the vegetable in a large bowl and melt it by putting in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time. After each 30 second session, take the bowl out of the microwave and stir the ingredients. It took me about 1 min and 30 seconds total for all of my chocolate to melt. Then quickly you want to mix in the peanuts, I used about 3/4th's of the peanut jar, but you can use as much or as little as you like depending on how nutty you want them. Then once your nuts are stirred in, you will take a spoon and drop spoonfuls onto your wax paper (which is on your baking sheet) and make several little clusters on the sheet. The last step is once all of your clusters are on the sheet, you will refrigerate for about 20 mins so the chocolate can harden. Then take out and enjoy! Any extras should be stored in a container! Let me know what you all think, I absolutely love them and can't get enough!
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing my first ever blow out bar service at the very wonderful Vent Blotique in Round Rock on University Blvd! I wasn't quite sure what to expect other than, I'd go in there and they would make my hair look great. Well my expectations were beyond met! The lovely manger, Hope started me off with one of the best head massages and washes I've ever had! It was just what the doctor ordered and I was so impressed! The blow out that I chose was the All Out and it defintley lived up to its name. It included a soothing warm towel while my hair was being washed, an amazing hair masque (which I was in desperate need of), the aforementioned perfect scalp massage and if that wasn't enough I received a hand treatment/massage as well! Then Hope blew out and styled my hair, which was gorgeous and lasted for days!!
So trust me on this ladies and go check out your nearest Vent Blotique next time you want to get pampered and look amazing. They are also hosting a giveaway on our main Facebook page that you can check out and enter into! They are giving away three of their one month memberships!! You can win one for you and two friends, how amazing is this?!! You could go in every day for a month if you wanted to and trust me, after you try it once, you WILL want to!
