Please see her interview below and reach out to her directly if she can help you in any way!
Tell us about your business and how you became the successful business woman you are today. (how did you get the courage to open your own store, what motivated you, how many hours you put in, how you keep a positive outlook, etc)
I am an insurance agent so I get the honor of protecting what is most important to people through various insurance products. Prior to that I was a property manager for 12 years. I worked for national companies as well as ran my own company for 6 years. I had many situations dealing with insurance good and bad in my past career. Four years ago on a personal side my sister lost her husband and unfortunately he didn't have life insurance, he was only 49 and had no signs of being sick. Everyday that goes by, I wish I would have started in this industry sooner and been able to help my sister avoid what she had gone through financially after his passing. I look at every client I work with as I would my friends or family and treat them as that by always doing what is best for them. Even if I don't directly handle their needs, I make sure that I get them placed where they need to be.
Describe yourself in three words:
Honest, hard working and kind.
What do you consider your greatest professional achievement?
Taking the chance and making a career change to insurance I have been able to help and educate many people. I absolutely love waking up and getting to do what I do each day!
What are your professional goals for the next six months?
To help as many families and businesses that I possibly can.
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
I couldn't think of anything than what I already do, I truly have my dream job!
How do you maintain a work/life balance?
A work/life balance has always been a difficult one for me as both are equally important to me. Everything I do I go full force either supporting and loving my family or my work. Over the years I have learned to separate my time when I am with my family. I put my phone away and make sure my clients know what resources they have when I am not available.
What websites do you visit every day?
It's sad to say but Amazon & Instacart are regular sites for me, gotta love the convenience!
What are your top three favorite people/places/things to do in your city?
My favorite people are for sure my husband and my 3 teenage kids ( they actually still want to hang out with me so I will take that as long as it continues)! I love getting out on the motorcycle with my husband and checking out new places that we see along the road.
What is your goal for retirement?
Definitely somewhere with a beach! It's a total dream to have a little bungalow on the beach front and be able to wake up every morning to the waves and go to sleep to them every night
.Do you have any advice for women who'd like to start their own company?
Do it! Life is too short to not do something you are passionate about. However just know it takes a lot of hard work. I've learned it's so worth every 12 hour day in the beginning for the reward in the end.
Any final comments?
I almost feel a bit strange talking about myself through this interview because my personality is more of the quiet type but no one will ever work harder to help you with anything you need than me because I truly do love it and feel so blessed that I am able to do what I do.
