In our house, we celebrate what most people would consider traditional holidays with a dinner. We have a big dinner for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years & Easter. Since I'm a mama who loves to cook, I like to try and make some of the other holiday meals special too. As a person with strong Irish roots (hello sunburns!), having a feast for St. Patrick's Day is an absolute must!
I have a semi-picky family. Can anyone else relate? The problem is, what my husband is picky about isn't the same thing that my youngest child is picky about. The only thing they all agree on is homemade pizza. I wasn't making homemade pizza today, lol.
Since I have a very meat & potatoes family, I settled on beef skewers with a balsamic, worcestershire & brown sugar glaze (the original recipe I found had a Guinness glaze, picky eaters) parmesan mashed potatoes and fried cabbage with bacon. Not super healthy but definitely yummy! Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a special meal?
Hi! My name is Mandie and I'm a transplant from WV. I moved to SC in 2015 on a whim after we came down here on vacation and didn't want to leave! I'm a mom to 2 and a furbaby. I teach essential oils classes, I host Girls Night Out events, meet ups, and write about events and my adventures in the Charleston area. I'm a foodie at heart and think that charcuterie should be it's own food group!
