I am a musician in the Charlotte market. I have traveled all over the world singing and playing keys with different well-known recording artists. I have performed at the Apollo theater 4 times now. I recently
released my own original record in Europe. All of the music is original (there is one cover on my record) and it has a smooth jazz pop type of feel. I currently perform in Charlotte at Brio Tuscan Grill on Fridays
at Piedmont Row, I perform at Mickey and Mooch restaurant in Huntersville every other Wednesday and at his restaurant one Friday per month at the Arboretum. I also perform with the Mo Money band and we are the official club level band at the Red zone for all panther games.
I am in Animal rescue and on the board for Operation CARE. We rescue abandoned, unwanted animals from high kill shelters, rehabilitate the animals and then adopt them to qualified screened homes. I typically have a foster dog living in my home with myself and my own dog

What do you consider your greatest professional achievement?
My greatest achievement has been launching my original CD in Europe. The songs I wrote are of personal
experiences and I poured myself into the project.
How do you stay connected and let people know where you perform?
I post my gigs on my Facebook page. Facebook.com/michellesmith3333
What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?
I would love to work with homeless people, I already work with homeless animals. I would also love to

What are your top 3 favorite people/places/things in Charlotte
1. Any venue with good live music
2. My friends and associates in animal rescue and welfare
3. The people who follow me musically. I adore them and appreciate their support so much. The Charlotte
community has been very good to me in my musical efforts. I have met so many wonderful people I cherish.
Do you have any advice for women who would like to start a career in music / entertainment?
Yes, first of all do what you love. If you want to be an entertainer know your clientele. Find a good
balance that allows you to play what they want to hear, but also allows you to be true to your taste. As
a woman I will tell another woman on stage to be a girl’s girl. Be true to the ladies, they will be true to
you. I have made so many wonderful friends through my musical career.
