Hi, I'm Sarah - A housewife in Charlotte, about to turn 30 (Ahhhh!), Christ follower, and soon-to-be Momma.
For me and my hubby Richard, the old saying rings true, “First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage." ...But there's always a catch isn't there?
You see, we're still trying to get the baby part down. We were diagnosed with infertility issues in early summer 2014. Our doctors gave us options, but basically told us that we would never conceive a child on our own. (Yeah, that pretty much sucked!)
We thought, "should we go through the procedures the doctor's recommended? Would we journey through rounds of IVF? How do we see our family growing?" All the while, feeling like every woman my age is pregnant (doesn't that always happen when you're trying to conceive?) and seeing dollar signs and questioning if we can afford any of it. (gah!) We prayed for God to work in our hearts and lead us in the right direction. Then our moment of clarity came, we could easily choose to proceed with the treatments the doctors recommended and start IVF, but for our family.... “First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage”…and the baby-to-be in OUR carriage will come through the blessing of adoption!
For us, adopting is equal to having biological children. We understand that their are people who just don’t get the “adoption option," but it's not a consolation prize for us. I'm so proud to say that I'm "paper pregnant" y'all!
We invite you to follow us through our milestones, our excitement, fear, joy, faith, and love all to bring our precious baby Bean home.
