It has been just past one week since Chicago Housewives went live and I am so excited!
With the initial excitement of the brand, blog and social pages starting to tone down it has likely left many of you with the same question that I once had… What makes up a Chicago Housewife?
I first came across the Housewives in the City brand when living in the D.C. area. I was helping a friend with their small business and was introduced to NOVA Housewives. When I was asked to tag along to one of the events; I had never heard of them before and a few things were most certain: I was not a wife (at the time), not a girlfriend, I didn’t have a house, in fact was going through a terrible breakup and looking for a new place to stay. All things considered, I decided to go. What did I have to lose?
My first event was in a hotel banquet room, I walked in the door, signed my name on a name tag and was pleasantly greeted by a group of cheerful women, a voluptuous hors d'oeuvres buffet and brightly colored, fully loaded swag bags.
Where was I? Was this like H.A., Housewives Anonymous? Not at all, I was in a room full of entrepreneurs, passionate business employees, wives, divorcees, mothers, daughters, single ladies and everything in-between. They were shopping, socializing, eating, drinking; relaxing! What an awesome idea! An organized night out for women of all different backgrounds, ages and careers, mingling together. Enjoying great food, beverage and shopping local businesses, all under one roof.
That is exactly what it is to be a Chicago Housewife. If you are a woman who wants to network, socialize, eat, drink, shop and experience local businesses, you’re a Chicago Housewife!
