The Rose Hotel Grand Opening party was AMAZING.....the end.
Seriously, I really can't say what I enjoyed the most because the entire experience was phenomenal! Let's start from the beginning:
We pulled into The Rose Hotel parking lot and it was PACKED! My immediate first thought was that we were going to be forced to park in the lot across the street and truck it through the snow- wearing suede, pointed toe, open sided heels at that! (No, I didn't think this through lol). Luckily for us, as I drove around the parking lot I noticed a sign that read "Valet Parking". JACKPOT! As we approached the front entrance, I looked toward the bottom of the sign trying to find the pricing and guess what.....IT WAS FREE!

Living in a money hungry city like Chicago, we all know what a luxury Complementary Parking is...especially Valet Parking. Well done Rose Hotel!
We parked in the Valet line and was approached by one of the attendants....a very handsome one I should say :). He opened my car door and greeted me with a smile, and gave me his arm to hold on to. He asked me what my friends name was, addressed her as such and guided us into the hotel to be handed off to a staff member.
[ The Rose Hotel 2 || Every Other Hotel 0]
My jaw literally dropped when I walked into the hotel! There were pink, blue, and purple (or just a darker pink.....I've self diagnosed myself with color blindness LOL ) lights illuminating from every corner of the room. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L ! A mixture of glass, marble and wood décor throughout. To the right of us was the Dj booth, full service bar, a Smash Cake Table, Fireplace, a room full of Rosé & cotton candy, lounge seats scattered throughout, and a backflipping man in a black/white stripe onesie! (YES, I said that). Super chill yet very classy!

After walking in and absorbing all of the aesthetics (Shoutout to Patty for being so patient with us lol), we were instructed to the sign in table, where we picked up our names bages with a pastel pink rosebud pined to it and dropped our coats off.

Once we finished the check in process, we begin to walk down the hallways to the other side of the hotel and there they were! Just as beautiful as can be. The Rose Ladies!

The Rose Hotel is really outdoing themselves at this point and I am beyond impressed!
And it just got so much better!
Walking towards what looked like a rose garden backdrop for pictures but as I got closer, I noticed there was a hand with a glass of champagne sticking out of it.
Now, at this point we've already been by the bar and were working on drink number 3 LOL So of course, I thought my mind was playing tricks on me when I saw someone take the glass of champagne and the hand disappeared then returned with yet another glass of wine.
Umm, excuse me....WHAT just happened?!
Yes, you heard it right! They had a rose wall that handed you glasses of champagne as you walked by. MIND BLOWING! So very creative. Still trying to figure out how I can get that wall at home :) LOL.

Now, for the other side of the hotel.
To the right of the wall of champagne was a room filled with green lit umbrellas! A super simple touch but it looked amazing! There was another bar, photobooth, tasty bites from Rosebud Restaurant and Dave & Buster's, and a room of champagne, beer, and liquor brands giving out samples (as if the two open bars was not enough LOL)
The Rose Hotel seriously knows how to party!
Last but certainly NOT least, was the tour of the hotel suites by the LOVELY MJ!
We started at the top floor and worked our way down. You will notice that every floor has its own exotic wall design as you get off the elevator. As you get on the elevator, you will notice the decor on the elevator door, each representing a different view of downtown chicago. The level of the view also changes with each floor- the top floors had higher views of the city while the lower floor had ground level views. So very creative!

My favorite thing about the suites and standard rooms is that they are both very spacious, each having its very own unique style! Marble and glass galore! Black and white wall paintings, chic decorative pillows, luxury style furniture...need I say more! See for yourself!

Overall, the experience was amazing and I am glad that we were able to be a part of this experience! The hotel is beautiful, the staff were outstanding, the food was delicious, and the drinks were top notch! Special thanks to everyone at The Rose Hotel, you all showed us a great time and we will definitely be back. Can't wait to book my room! But don't take my word for it! Go see for yourself.

Who said you can only brunch in the summer?!
Brunch in Chicago is basically a weekend ritual, most popular in the summer time but who said you couldn't brunch in the winter. It's the best time to be inside, indulging in comfort foods washed down with tasty mimosas. Count me in! Brunch, the restaurant, is definitely on the hit list. If you haven't been here yet, I highly suggest you treat yourself! Heres why:
The space was super cozy and chic with a mixture of exposed brick walls and floor to ceiling glass windows. The walls were decorated with cute signs and posters all representing the fun in brunchin'.
I've been to Bruch one hundred million times and finally decided to do a blog review on this gem. Normally, I would get the Fresh Baked Cinnamon Rolls as a starter and the Chi-Town Skillet as my entreé paired with their bottomless mimosas, of course! However, I decided to try something new and I was not at all disappointed. Our waitress told us the Fruity Pebble French Toast and Breakfast Nachos were a hit, so I tried them.....AMAZING!! I am a sucker for all things sweet and the Fruity Pebble French Toast definitely did the trick! I was pretty skeptical about the The Breakfast Nachos- waffle fries? chorizos? eggs? cheese? sour cream?...all together? Normally not my cup of tea. Imagine my surprise when I bit into the nachos and it happened to be the best combination since PB & J! What have I been missing my entire 25 years of living!? Yum!
My entreé consisted of the traditional- eggs with cheddar cheese, bacon, diced potatoes, and wheat toast. Simple, yet a classic favorite and easily one of the meals I crave daily.
Lastly, the drinks! Because let's be honest, whats brunch without mimosas?! "Brunch without mimosas is just a sad breakfast". The one thing I love about Brunch is that they don't serve you the typical OJ + Champagne mimosas. You're offered the option to select different flavors to mix with your champagne. We chose- OJ, Lemonade, Papaya, and Cranberry. I'll be the first to say, I HATE CRANBERRY. It brings back way to many memories of college parties with nasty hangovers (LOL). However, the cranberry mixed with champagne was PERF! Highly recommend trying it. They also provide you with the entire bottle of champagne to pour your own troubles. I absolutely love this because I don't feel like I'm being served watered down mimosas. You get your moneys worth, for sure!
I'll rate Brunch- A: Will I go back? Of course! Our waitress was super friendly and made sure we had everything we need. From her suggestions to her patience with my dates indecisiveness (lol), she made us feel welcomed and wanting to come back! But don't take my word for it, go try it yourself! Tell them Ashley sent you :)
Until next time. Happy Brunchin' folks!
The first picture pretty much sums up my entire trip!
It’s been YEARS since I’ve been back to JA, 15 years to be exact. My mother's side of the family is from Kingston, JA and we visited more often when I was younger. However, since then my entire family has moved to the states which meant less visits. My ultimate goal was to get an AUTHENTIC beef patty from Juici Patties .......#goalaccomplished
All in all, our trip was amazing as usual! It felt great being away to step away from the resort and experience the true beauty Jamaica has to offer. Special thanks to the entire staff at Hotel Riu Montego Bay. You all were amazing! If you're ever visiting Montego Bay, you MUST stay here! - Tell them Ashley sent you :).
Definitely have to make this trip at least once a year. Love my people! See you guys for Dream Weekend ! 🍾🥳
One love 🇯🇲💚🖤💛

Fantastic Mr. Fox to Be Presented at Victory Gardens Theater
CHICAGO (Sept. 11, 2018) – Emerald City Theatre (ECT) will open the Chicago premiere of Fantastic Mr. Fox, adapted for the stage by David Wood from the book by Roald Dahl and directed by ECT Artistic Director Jacqueline Stone, at Victory Gardens Začek-McVay Theater, 2433 N Lincoln Ave, on December 14, 2018.
Fantastic Mr. Fox is the first production presented by Emerald City Theatre on the main stage at Victory Gardens Theater. “We are delighted to continue growing our relationship with Victory Gardens Theater as we prepare for Fantastic Mr. Fox,” says Stone. “This opportunity will allow us to move forward artistically as we expand our reach, particularly with older age groups, and the scope of what we are able to bring to life onstage.”
The production will feature Mario Aivazian (Mr. Fox), Brianna Buckley (Badger), Tia Pinson (Mrs. Fox), Aaron Lawson (Boggis), Isa Arciniegas (Bunce), Jeffrey Hoge (Bean), Jeanne T.
