When a good friend told me about a women's business conference she was attending in Nashville I jumped at the opportunity. As a small business owner who supports other women businesses I thought what a great opportunity to take away some new tips and tricks to share. When we pulled into the welcome event, I was expecting a few hundred ladies and could not believe my eyes to see over 3,000 women! Women either just starting out or taking their businesses to another level. The 3 day event had speakers, break out sessions and motivator speakers, that was just what this girl boss needed. Seeing how someone can take a small idea and turn it into a million dollar business in many different fields and ideas was very uplifting.
The most important takeaways that I would share are these.
1. Learn the art of Yes and the art of No. Yes to trying things ithat are out of comfort zone in other words that scare you. Say No to the things that will take more of your energy then could reap you great rewards.
2, Have a clear vision of what your goals are, write them down and then take small steps to achieve them.
3. Focus, Focus, Focus - with entrepreneurs this is the hardest part finalizing on only one idea. But once you do hone in on it and go for it!
4. Confidence - this is pivotal to being successful, because if you don't believe in you who will?
5. Mentor and support network - Having people in your life who not only can give you unbiased advice but who are also your cheerleaders will propel you even further to achieving your goals.
Whatever is in you that strikes a chord in and you are passionate about pursuing - do that!
