This month we are featuring the incredibly talented Micole Liberato with Micole Photography.
DenHousewives: Tell us about your business and how you became the successful business woman you are today.
Micole: I am a professional portrait photographer. I specialize in creating magazine-style, legacy portraits (think Vanity Fair/Vogue/GQ, but for everyday people). I help individuals empower and celebrate themselves with an unforgettable photoshoot experience.
I was a speech pathologist for several years before making the difficult decision to leave that profession to pursue photography full time. Photography has always energized me, which I first realized when I picked up a camera at sixteen and could not put it down. Although running my own photography business has been much more unpredictable and challenging, I love what I do and I love watching how my business continues to grow. I find great joy in creating art and showing people how amazing and beautiful they are through my lens.
DenHousewives: Describe yourself in three words:
Micole: creative, resilient, dreamer
DenHousewives: What do you consider your greatest professional achievement?
Micole: Every single time my clients see their finished photos. That internal shift that I see in them-- whether it be an increase in self-confidence or a rediscovery of themselves, their uniqueness and their own beauty, through photographs.
DenHousewives: What are your professional goals for the next six months?
Micole: Launch my exciting new project which I had been envisioning and working on for a while now. Will reveal more on that soon!
DenHousewives: What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Micole: I'd love to further explore the world of cinematography.
DenHousewives: How do you maintain a work/life balance?
Micole: I'm not always successful in maintaining a good work/life balance, to be honest. But I try to set aside some time each day for myself, for my husband, and for my dog.
DenHousewives: What websites do you visit every day?
Micole: Photography education websites and YouTube
DenHousewives: What are your top three favorite people/places/things to do in your city?
Micole: I love hiking trails, Pilates Evolution, and the Stanley Marketplace.
DenHousewives: What is your goal for retirement?
Micole: Partial retirement from my photography studio, as well as adequate and diverse investments.
DenHousewives: Do you have any advice for women who'd like to start their own company?
Micole: Persevere. Invest in education for your business. And do not let people project their own limitations on you.
DenHousewives: Any final comments?
Micole: I'm absolutely thrilled to be in Denver and am excited to see what this city has in store for me.
