Ready for the BIG GAME on Sunday?! Neither are we, but we can help you get there with these quick and easy apps that are sure to please the crowd!
Chicken and Waffle Sliders
I had these for the first time at a wedding and they were so delish! We found this super simple app recipe that will be a fan-favorite for adults and kids!
Use skewers or toothpicks to hold these together, just be careful if serving to children!
Sweet & Sour Meatballs
These are the most requested dish when I go to or host a party! There are a variety of ways to make appetizer meatballs, but this recipe is my absolute favorite. You’ll need:
So, yes, I know those are very specific and when you are shopping the store brand will be cheaper, but I promise I’ve tried and it is worth the few extra dollars for these brands to get just the most sweet and delicious sauce.
This recipe is great if you have to get the kids ready or have other dishes to make because you will literally empty all three jars (chili sauce + jelly) into the crockpot. Use a whisk to blend together the sauce. Then dump meatballs into the sauce and stir until they are coated. Turn on low for approximately 6 hours if frozen and 3 if you’ve been able to thaw the meatballs in the refrigerator. You will want to stir occasionally, I’d recommend every 1.5-2 hours. Here’s my hack for not releasing all of that heat from the crock pot: I gently and carefully while holding the lid down will slide the crockpot in small circles on the counter. The sauce inside will be thinning and this should allow you to keep sauce from burning to the sides without releasing all of the heat inside and setting yourself back. Be sure to check in periodically and these will be ready when hot enough to serve, because they are already cooked! If you have a ‘keep warm’ function on your crockpot, I recommend using that while serving - save a dish and keep them warm for guests! Garnish if you wish!
I hope you’ll enjoy my favorite two party recipes! Be sure to share and let us know you’ve loved them by tagging @clthousewives and using #clthousewives and #housewivesinthecity.
