You may be asking, “So who is the voice behind this “Fort Collins Housewives” thing and what is it?” My name is Stephanie and I have lived in Fort Collins and Northern Colorado since February 2014, when my family and I moved from Northern Virginia for a transfer with my husband’s job. We uprooted our family and left behind many family and friends, which was such a hard thing to do, especially when some of our relationships on the east coast were 20+ years deep. As we’ve transitioned to life in Colorado, we’ve fallen in love with everything about our new home…yet something remained missing for me. I realized I was searching for that social connection…connecting with other women who, like me, were looking to network, build community, interact with other like-minded individuals, and build each other up with support. Plus, it’s always fun to get a night out without the kids in tow and hold adult conversations over cocktails, shopping, and delicious food. Being from Northern Virginia (NOVA), I was familiar with the awesomeness that is NOVA Housewives and was hoping to find something similar out here. Well, it has paid off because ladies, here I am - Fort Collins (FOCO) Housewives. I have joined the Housewives in the City and am bringing this awesomeness to YOU!
Let me introduce myself a little more…
I am a mom of three wonderful kids- 4 and ¾ year old twins (as they would tell you) and a 7 month old. My husband is so patient and supportive of all my quirks and I love him dearly. We also have 2 dogs. Our house is LOUD and hectic and busy but so full of love. There are times I find myself just stepping back from the hectic moments and looking around and smiling, even laughing at times. There are definitely challenges and celebrations at this stage in life but that is what makes every stage of life so unique and memorable.
I bake or run to clear my mind (they go hand-in-hand right?). A good balance I think. I love Old Town Fort Collins - the live music, the square, grabbing an amazing cocktail at Social, or enjoying a drink on the rooftop patio at Mainline, oh and one must not forget Margaritas at Rio. The Welsh Rabbit is my favorite little wine and cheese bistro (my husband and I like to start our date nights there). I also enjoy hanging out with my family at the local breweries, especially Odell and High Hops, as they are extremely kid friendly and have great outdoor spaces. Our newest favorite hang out is the new Jessup Farm community because it has everything you need! Especially the cute bakery and little coffee shop, not to mention the boutique shop, barrel house, restaurant and so much more! The trails around Northern Colorado are awesome to run and bike on - my two favorite being Poudre Trail and Spring Canyon. I could go on and on about places I like, and trust me, I still have a lot of exploring left to do. There is so much that our new home has to offer…
I look forward to connecting with all of you and meeting you at our monthly Girls Night Out (GNO) events.
Enjoy the photo below of my three monkeys.... it hopefully provides you a glimpse into my life :)
