Everyone needs a break away from the everyday routine, so planning a staycation can provide you with some relaxing time, pampering moments and a vacation feel without traveling hundreds of miles. Luckily we live in a place where having an awesome staycation is super easy. There are so many great beach resorts around, one being the beautiful Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Fl. I was first introduced to this awesome resort when I hosted the August Girl's Night Out event in the lobby. Check out the photocap from that night: Ft Lauderdale Girl's Night Out Aug at The Diplomat
So I decided to go back for a full weekend to see how a couples getaway vacation at The Diplomat would be. I am happy to say that it was a lovely staycation that I highly recommend you all experiencing!
Rooms at The Diplomat Beach Resort
The Diplomat rises 39 floors above the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway. The Diplomat Beach Resort Hollywood, A Curio Collection by Hiltonâ¢, has 1,000 rooms and suites. We had a fantastic view from the Corner Suite on 26th floor of The Diplomat. The suite had beautiful and comfortable contemporary furnishings, great amenities and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of the ocean.
Pools and Beach at The Diplomat
You will have panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean from the infinity pool, which features a porthole bottom, and two waterfalls that cascade into the pool below. The lagoon pool is where we spent most of our pool day in a cabana, surrounded by tropical landscaping! You can enjoy food and drinks delivered to your chaise lounge. Pool amenities include complimentary towel service, cabana and casita rentals, full-service poolside lunch and spa services.
The Restaurants at Diplomat Beach Resort
Led by celebrity chefs along with local chefs, the Diplomat offers a wide range of culinary offerings creating not only a perfect well rounded vacation but also a great place just to go dine locally for the night! As quoted from their website: "Choose from The Diplomatâs signature steakhouse Diplomat Prime or enjoy Coastal American cuisine at Point Royal from celebrity chef, restauranteur, and television star Geoffrey Zakarian. The Hotel Bar transports you to famous hotels around the world with its menu inspired by iconic cocktails. Grab-and-go from casual market The Canteen, or head across the way to Diplomat Landing and take in beautiful views of the Intracoastal Waterway at Bristolâs Burgers or Portico Beer & Wine Garden. Exciting new options including modern Japanese izakaya Monkitail from celebrity chef and restaurateur Michael Schulson, the festive Nuevo Latino Playa from chefs Sue Torres and Darren Carbone, and family-friendly sweets shop Candy & Cones. Four-hour complimentary valet or self-park at Point Royal, Diplomat Prime or Monkitail."
On the first night, we dined at Monkitail. This beautiful restaurant located right off the lobby offers sushi and meats in mostly tapas form. We got over stuffed with a specialty menu customized by the chef that gave us an overview of the entire menu: from sushi to duck tacos and steak I cannot wait to dine here again! Everything was delicious and perfectly crafted even my chili-pepper margarita!
Then day two, we grabbed breakfast sandwiches at Counter Point, the quick service spot off the lobby, before heading to our cabana, then we enjoyed lunch with a view at La Playa during our pool day. Guacamole, Tacos, burger & fries with cold beer! And later that night, we had a divine dinner of salads, clam chowder, fish and steak at Point Royal.
The Spa at The Diplomat Beach Resort
I had the pleasure of anjoying a 60 minute full body massage from the Diplomat Spa + Wellness! The spa provides a sanctuary experience to revitalize your mind, body, and soul. Choose from a variety of specialized treatments, fitness classes, and holistic programming.

The Diplomat is Good For Kids Too
Though I was kid-free on this trip I took the opportunity to go visit the Kids Club to see if my kids would enjoy a future trip here...and the answer is yes they most certainly would! THE NEW DIPLOMAT KIDSâ CLUB for ages 4-12, provides oceanside adventures. There are also outside games to play, a kid area setup on the beach and a splash pad area at the pool - making the hotel very kid friendly. For more information click here
