Swedes love coffee! In fact, Swedes are among the biggest consumers on the planet. So, it comes as no surprise that IKEA, a Swedish-based company, would celebrate National Coffee Day in a big way. In Sweden, ‘FIKA’ is the word used to describe a coffee break. IKEA Norfolk invites Hampton Roads to enjoy a FIKA in-store on National Coffee Day. Visitors to the store on September 29, 2019 can enjoy a free drip coffee in the Restaurant all day long, no purchase necessary.
‘PÅTÅR’ is Swedish for a second cup of coffee and the name of IKEA’s coffee range. IKEA Family members can receive 25% off their purchase of PÅTÅR ground coffee and coffee beans September 16 through October 7, 2019. Customers can also enjoy a special Chocolate Lingonberry Mousse with their coffee in the Restaurant for just $1.49 on September 29.
IKEA is committed to offering good beans. But it’s not just about taste, it’s about quality and sustainability, too. The trick is to get all of this right. With IKEA’s PÅTÅR coffees, the company believes they have. All coffee served and sold in IKEA stores is UTZ certified, ensuring sustainable farming standards and fair conditions for workers. All crops are organically grown without the use of fertilizers or pesticides. And, IKEA uses only 100% Arabica beans, the species widely considered top notch for taste. Customers can even check the origin of their coffee beans by visiting www.utz.org/IKEA.
